This book started a bit slow, but once the event happened, the pace picked up to the point that I'm glued to the page and wanting to race to the end!

I love this post-apocalyptic story from the Anishinaabe point of view. Moon of the Crusted Snow was fantastic, and this one is right up the same alley of excellence.

Back at it, now in ebook.

Stopping at chapter 11 on the audiobook to wait for the ebook version. I can't stand the narrator's voice when he's reading female characters.

Finally at the center of the labyrinth. I confirmed my guess of what the "secret" was, and I'm annoyed I was right.

More autumn cozy reading.

Oh, I get it now. It's multiple story-within-a-story, each one revealing more about the actual events, all around the life of this financier during the early 1900s.

Okay, so now we're on a second book-within-a-book, completely different from the first one.

A quarter of the way into the book, and I've no idea what it is about. The very expository narrative of these chapters is interesting, though, so I'm still going.

This book is fascinating and disturbing.

Finished, but I need to sit with it a bit.

The duel between Hamilton and Burr. The irony? Hamilton did throw away his shot.

I needed something light to offset the two other books I'm reading-- Hamilton's biography and Middlemarch--both of which are heavier.

The election of 1800. The musical leaves out A LOT about how unhinged Hamilton was at this time and how much it was due to the bitter feud with Adams.

Mr James? More like Mr Oblivious. He's probably really a Chad or a Brad.

It's 1793, and I REALLY don't like Jefferson.
