I need something uplifting to read.

I am absolutely LOVING this book!

This book is so good, but it WILL change the way you eat and buy food. It simply will.

The first 3 chapters have the most succinct history of Puerto Rico's colonial struggles and its consequences that I've ever seen, all of it in the service of laying the foundation for why the US abandoned the island during and after Maria.

"People eating a Western diet are prone to a complex of chronic diseases that seldom strike people eating more traditional diets. Scientists can argue all they want about the biological mechanisms behind this phenomenon, but whichever it is, the solution to the problem would appear to remain very much the same: stop eating a Western diet."

The story Master and Apprentice by Claudia Grey was quiet and excellent, just a short conversation between blue ghost Qui-Gon and old Obi-Wan, a moment of reflection between these two. So good.

Nah, I'm done. While there are some good prose passages, there meandering storytelling device isn't clicking with me right now, and I just don't care for the constant profanity, rudeness, callousness, and gratuitousness of the text. I'm disappointed, I wanted to like it, but it comes across as Man Booker prize-winning James showing off how edgy he still can be.

...and The Sith of Datawork by Ken Liu does a fantastic, and clever, job of showing the day-to-day reality of the Imperial government. Definitely worth check it out.

Three stories in and I'm loving this anthology. It's definitely made for fans and it rewards knowing the details of the movies. Raymus by Gary Whitta bridges Rogue One and A New Hope through the eyes of Captain Antilles, The Bucket by Christie Golden puts a human face on the Stormtroopers that capture Leia in the Tantive IV...

I'm having issues with this book. The prose is great, no doubt about it, but it's bordering on gratuitous in so many areas for no apparently discernible reason. I'm trying to decide if the story is worth putting up with the swearing, violence, and other questionable content.
