Daniel is on page 30 of 319 of New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy
I'm stopping reading this book. As interesting as the subject matter is, it is not holding my interest at the moment, an issue compounded by the obtuseness of the writing. I'm glad the book exists, with whatever flaws it may have, for those Seekers whose path to God calls them to seek these proofs. I don't feel the need for such arguments, but I love that they are out there for those that do need them.

I'm forcing myself to stretch this out a little to make it last. Cause otherwise I'd be done already. So good.

Just three chapters in and this book has me at the edge of the proverbial seat!

I'll give this book a try. I don't feel I *need* to read it, in the sense that I don't need all these proofs to confirm the existence of God, but I am curious about the subject. But it is dense, and I honestly don't know if I'll get through it all.

Seven pages into this novel, and I'm already loving it to bits (pun intended).

Very interesting so far. The chapters are huge, and the stories of the pilgrims could be fantastic stand-alone short stories in and of themselves, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they all fit together.

I'm on the fence about this. It's good, but it's not hooking me up. I'll finish this volume at the very least.

The book was interesting while it was telling of life traveling through 50s America. Beyond that, I lost interest in the characters. Putting it down.

I forgot that I had ordered this from the library. Since I'm waiting for the next book that I actually want to read to be delivered, let's tackle the birth of the beatnik movement.

It's interesting to see the sheer chutzpah that Paul has as he wholly invents new concepts and ideas to then tack on to this thing which will eventually be called Christianity. Oy, the chutzpah!

In general, I don't like Paul/Saul of Tarsus. I feel he co-opted the life and message of the Jewish Jesus/Yeshua of Nazareth to create a Greek new theology. But that's not a fair assessment because I don't know much about Paul, which is why I'm reading this book, to get to know the man who created Christianity, a monumental feat by anyone's estimation.

Putting this novel on official pause. I haven't picked it up in the last two months due to life, an at the moment it does not interest me to keep reading. Overall I do wanna know what happens, so maybe I'll come back to it, but later.

What most calls out, appeals to me, about Miéville's writing is his ability to spout a few choice words here and there, esoteric made-up nouns peppered like seasoning upon the normal sentences, and in doing so create magic, mystery, myth about the world around. And then to move on like nothing more mundane than the time of day had been said.

Major cleanup of Friends here on Goodreads. Left only those actively using it. I figure that, if people start using this site again, they'll find me once more.

I can already tell this is a novel I'll have to read again later on to get all the nuances of its language. There is a lot going on in very concise sentences. I admit it took me a bit to get into it, but just over the halfway point, I'm wanting more than I know is left.

The opening chapter was a bit confusing, what with throwing new characters, setting, and situation at you all at once, using language that is both familiar and foreign at the same time. That said, it lets you know immediately the uniqueness of this new world, drawing you in quickly, if a little rushed sometimes, into the adventure promised in the first couple of pages.

Interesting start so far, although I've seen the use of a few terms which make me wonder if there's a bias, or if the author is using them to convey atmosphere. We'll see as I go along.

Picked this up at the recommendation of Judd Karlman when I asked if he had come across a fantasy analogue of Judaism. One chapter in, and I'm hooked.
