Apparently, I'm a glass half-empty kind of guy as this second chapter is more my geopolitical speed.

We'll see where this is going, but it stinks a bit of capitalist free-market idealism which annoys me. But, I'll give it a chance.

A decent adventure story. Not his best work, but worth reading.

I like short stories, even though it takes me longer to read the book. It allows me to get a few pages in at night before I sleep and I don't have to focus on all the characters for an extended period.

At first, I didn't think I was going to like it...but now, we're setting off on the grand adventure. You can feel it.

It is difficult to divorce this novel from one of my favorite baseball films of all time. There is much to savor, but I find myself rushing to get to the next part. Intriguing differences between film and book.

Ahh...baseball season. Kinsella's lush descriptions of earth and baseball are intoxicating.

At times, I find myself snorting. I would've loved hanging out with Ms. Parker. She's exactly the sort of character I would consort with.

The poetry is bitter and mournful...think Sylvia Plath meets your ex-girlfriend. But the stories at times are laugh out loud (LOL) riotous.

The poor guy can't catch a break. Every triumph in his life is met with tragedy.

I can hardly put this book down. Truly a compelling story. Well-written.

It has been some time since I have desired to devour a book so quickly and completely. I hate to put this down. The writing style is fiction, even though the subject matter is decidedly non-fiction. Looking forward to continuing.

Mister, we could use a man like Calvin Coolidge again! Although, possibly some of his policies I'm not a big fan of, mostly he seems like a pretty decent politician. Still, there's 62% to go.

This actually isn't taking as long to listen to as I thought, even though I only listen in the car. And quite a good book as well. Also, read impeccably by Mr. Aselford.

Thus far, a very interesting book. I've always been a fan of Coolidge. I was never sure why people were down on him...maybe the next 84% will shed some light on that.

I can tell I'm going to love this. Only one story in and I'm desperate for more!

It will probably take me forever to listen to all 21 hours of this...but, so far it's interesting.
