Damn work is slowing me down finishing this, it's rattling along with great pace and great characterisation!

Nice tie in with the road brothers. Feel like I have learned a lot more about Crath than in the first trilogy too.

Great stuff though I would have liked to seen a little more of the Red March capital

Great stuff, I liked the prince of thorns but at times it felt a little thin and underdeveloped, the characters could have been more. This book feels like Mark has developed his skill as a writer. The world is more vivid, the characters more rounded and it just feels more of a book. Great stuff!

I'm already fully bought in when on the second page the lead character quips "Dropping into a thorn bush can lead to no end of grief." Fantastic work Mr Lawrence! Bravo!

Great so far, love the character interaction.

Already the first few pages have thoroughly engaged me. Quirky characters and snappy banter between them that encapsulates what Andrez Bergen does best.

More trashy (but extremely enjoyable) Reacher adventures!

I'm not sure what it is but I do like this book, it's very readable and engaging though at times I feel I may be missing the point or perhaps it just hasn't been revealed yet.

I'm just not feeling it with this book.

Great so far, perhaps not quite as noir as I was expecting but the laconic style it is written interspersed with moments frenetic action have been great so far.

Still great stuff.

"Also, please watch your language. Everything you type is being broadcast all over the world" "Look! A pair of boobs -> (.Y.)" The geeky humour at times in this interspersed with the seriousness of the situation offers a great contrast and a glimpse into how some people (yes you Brits!) deal with fear/tragedy and the shit side of life.

Really engaging so far, can't put it down.

Perhaps a break from the book helped. The literary masturbation Toltz indulges in seems more tolerable in smaller doses, I actually enjoyed my return to the book and looking forward to my next read.

Red Esperanto done, I love the laconic and dirty style. Sleazy and gritty as true noir should be.

Something happen! Bakker has suffered from Mirville syndrome, loving the sound of his own voice at the expense of the story which has now become secondary to proceedings.

I loved the first two books; I can't put my finger on why but this book, whilst in no way obviously different, is just dragging its arse and I'm struggling with the will to carry on.

It's Pratchett light, I understand he was ill but it's still a little sad reading a book that, when measured against his earlier work, is so poor.

Quite poignant so far.

Solid start, not a huge amount has happened but the pages have turned easy enough and the scene is being set.

Keeps getting better.

Whilst the first book was good to date this book is great. Characterisation is better, the plot advancement is concise, the info dumps minimised and the "philosophising" is in the main engaging. Bakker writes a great battle as well, he adroitly combines the sweeping vista with the personal loss. AIso I must say that Kellhus is, for myself, quickly becoming one of the most fascinating fantasy creations I have read.
