It's kind of a strange continuation of The Maze Runner- but it's entertaining none the less. A lot of questions from the first novel are being answered, but more questions are being added, haha. I wonder if this series will have a satisfying enough ending with everything Dashner is setting up during this novel! I'm anxious to continue reading tomorrow!

After 2016 only being full of really indepth/informational/slow-burning books (ranging from historical fiction to near-future science fiction) it's nice to catch a break from the books that require deep-thinking for a sec. It's by no means the best in terms of 'quality', but it's an entertaining read! It's fun, easy and exciting. Glad I chose this series as my break inbetween the bigger and more challenging reads.

Up until now it this entire book felt like an extended prologue intended to show us what society will be like a thousand years from the events of 2001; A Space Odyssey. Which is interesting, especially with the inclusion of Frank in the mix. But a book alone can't survive by just being a 'glimpse' into the future. But the plot is finally pulling forward thanks to the self proclaimed 'Comet Cowboy'.

One of my main worries coming into this book was the time-gap between 2061 and 3001 and how the entire; 'slow progression' feel that transitioned so smoothly between all of the previous books would now be gone, but having a character from 'our' time (that we're also familiar with from the book 2001 - recently resurrected Frank Poole) be thrown into that world feels pretty nice - it's like we are adapting with him.

The last time I devoured a book like this so quickly was probably 'Hollow City' by Ransom Riggs, though that book wasn't particularly 'quality-storytelling', this book is surely much better.

Now Universe is on it's way for the rescue mission for the crashed crew on Europa. I have a feeling something 'else' will happen before Universe get's there - something mind-bending. AKA like-the-ending-2001 type mind-bending.

It's amazing how much more I'm liking this book than 2010. Just finished Halley's comet expedition, and boy, did that create some amazing visual images in my head! It shows how nature on other planets/moons/comets can seem magical to us.

The cliffhanger was killer - I'm excited to see what awaits the crashed crew on Europa, especially after the warning, an knowing what's on there thanks to the last chapter of 2010

Started it today, and am already liking it a lot more than 2010!! The characters feel more real, and the expeditions seem to live up a bit more to the expectations of what follows from the ending of 2001. 2010 felt a bit underwhelming in that regard. But, regardless, 2010 did help a whole lot with build-up, but I feel like 2061 is the pay-off of 2010 - atleast so far.

I hope I'll continue liking it this much!

First time I have ever taken a break from one book to start another; not that I don't like the book I currently stopped, infact; I adore it (Cloud Atlas).

Considering my immense love for 2001, I straight away ordered the following 3: '2010', '2061' and '3001' immediatly afterwards. It took around a week to arrive, but as soon as it came in, I had to start it. I shall continue CA as soon as I finish this series.

This book is more an equivalent to a '5000 piece puzzle of a beach'. The layers to this story is absolutely insane - in a good way. It spans over decades. A whole bunch of 'at first glance' unrelated narratives make the story a bit choppy at the beginning, but they come together at the end masterfully. It is absolutely essential to at all times pay attention.

I took a break with reading books for a while; I every once in a while take a couple months off, to prevent the expierences from blending in with eachother/or getting stale.

After having tried to decide which book to read out of the 10 I was debating between, I chose this one.

And I have to say, it's a strong re-enterance into the book world for me!

Just as strong as the asoiaf re-entry from 2014 so far!

Oh my! This book has to probably be one of the most impressively written book that I have ever read. It truly is amazing. This last half of the book will likely be done in no time!

The first half of this book took me around 2 and a half months to finish, while usually I can finish 5-6 books in that time. It get's interesting though after you're halfwayit sucks that it took so long to read, I could have read so many books in that time, but I have a hard time just stopping a book half way through, I feel an obligation to finish it. Am most likely going to start The Pillars of the Earth after this

It took me the first 100 pages to get into, but now that I'm really entering into the heart of the story; seeing the psychological effects as well as build up towards the climax. I'm now completely hooked to this novel, and keep on turning the pages in anticipation for what's to come next.

It's not AS captivating as the first one, as the first one was the introduction to the world + the magic system. And this one just expands on it. But it's still very awesome!
