I never understood why Catherine of Aragon didn't take the veil. It's not like Henry was some marital prize at that point in the marriage. Catherine had everything to lose, and she did. Plus, she totally screwed over Mary, who lived her whole life in a torturous and conflicted limbo of legitimacy and faith.

At some point, Barbara Kyle had better let on that THOMAS MORE is the one having all these heretics burnt at the stake. Because otherwise, the whole plot's for nothing.

This book is crushing me. Very slowly. And I don't even care.

Yeah, Thomas More was a total innocent who knew nothing about court intrigues and didn't prepare any of his wards for live in political England. OKAY. Insert Lucille Bluth side-eye here.

I like this premise. There's a great deal of name-dropping so far, and some of it forced. BUT, it shows promise. And I do love a series with promise.
