I don't know if I'm more annoyed at the absurd motivation behind the genocide or that none of the characters seem to realize how remarkably illogical and downright counterproductive it was. Our narrator, btw, is too busy being confused by not having figured out the most obvious thing ever. I like a lot about this book, but plot and worldbuilding are not it's strengths.
