I feel like I'm being cheated having to read excruciating details about parties while only getting a few sentences about fights here. More violence, please.

the first 28% of this book felt about 800 pages long and said almost nothing. I do hope we are at the part where stuff happens, and keeps happening.

I don't know if I'm more annoyed at the absurd motivation behind the genocide or that none of the characters seem to realize how remarkably illogical and downright counterproductive it was. Our narrator, btw, is too busy being confused by not having figured out the most obvious thing ever. I like a lot about this book, but plot and worldbuilding are not it's strengths.

There is waaaay too much plot to wrap up in the length of book remaining. Not sure if this will end with a cliffhanger or a dinner party conversation.

Her fiance is now blackmailing her. "Be good or I won't include your name on the patent for the thing that only works because of your contribution."

I kind of love that the biggest mistake she's made was getting engaged and not killing a man. She totally did kill a man. It needed doing, and perhaps it does again.
