The edition I'm reading, the complete one, has 666 pages. I'm now at page 419.

So anyway, this went from mocking every Jane Austen novel to Mean Girls during the French Restauration (between both French Empires).

This first part ends as an exaggeration of everything I know from Jane Austen. The son of a carpenter in the town of Verrières is recruited in the local nobleman's family to educate their children (one of which is called Stanislas-Xavier, a hilarious name to begin with)
He very much accidentally gets an episcopal education and the first part ends with him going to Paris.

Great fun overall.

This is comedy gold.

I've come across approximately 50% of the references in movies of my youth.

I also think everybody recognises themselves in the way Cyrano is in love: downplaying his achievements (casually dropping bars while beating up some rich guy), depressed until he hears his crush has seen him and would like to talk.

This can only go well :)

It's smut.

Welp, let's see if there's any plot in between the sex scenes.

The dialogues feel weird, man. Noam and Ilan tend to agree with each other, every so often you'll see a "yes, I agree", "this is true" and they repeat what is written in the introduction.
However it's interesting to see that plenty of demonstrations nowadays fall for the same trap as approx. 10 years ago: the demands are too abstract.

Sadly, Israel just proves by existing that grimdark isn't fantasy... it's reality.

They're, uh... being optimistic about the situation, I believe.

I found the saying "blood is thicker than water"!

I mentioned that day-to-day schedule, and that I was lagging about 3 days behind.

I can now proudly say that I am five days behind.

So the Muslim have this neat sectioning of the Qur'an in 30 parts, called Jūz. This way, you read one Juz a day during Ramadan, and you read the whole Qur'an in a month's time. Really neat.

I'm two days (approx.) behind.

Oh, this is the third book (volume 3, divided into books)

Well this isn't confusing at all.

I'm taking way too long on the second book.

But to be honest, the emotional parts are kind of ridiculous.
The rest is just a D&D campaign.
