Kickstarter for the next Riyria novel (Death of Dulgath) launched to huge success. Less than 24 hours in and it's already raised just shy of $22,000! Thanks all for the amazing support.

The Death of Dulgath Kickstarter has been approved! I'm going to officially launch it on Thursday Jun 4th at 12:00 EST. Gonna be fun!

The First Empire work is completed and I'm moving ahead full steam on the Third Riyria Chronicle book - so far it's going well. I'm really excited about where this is going.

Doh, I can't believe I didn't post this here (I did on my blog and facebook). But I've FINISHED all five books of the First Empire series! Took a bit over two years and 772 days. Doing a second edit pass of book #5 then it will be over to Robin for an "alpha read." Getting there!

Down to the last four chapters in the last book of The First Empire! Another 10,000 - 15,000 words and I should be done! It's been fun to write, and I'm hoping readers will love it as much as I do.

For the last three days I've been working on a "big scene. Now that I'm through with it I'm nearing the final climax of the last book of the First Empire.

Yes, I just entered my own giveaway for the advanced copy of Rhune. But let me explain. I got an email from a person who has impaired eyesight...so I actually entered it for them. If I win the book - I'll be sending it to Ann P.

Captivating...that's the best way to describe this new book by Naomi. It's my first time reading any of her work and I'm LOVING it. Last night I planned on reading only one chapter and read 50 pages...that says volumes.

Quick status update...writing on book #5 of the First Empire is still going well. I'm over the 30,000 word mark and ahead of schedule. I'm not rushing it--the advantages of a self-imposed deadline. Still really happy with how things are coming out.

On the Beta side of things, there is about 2 weeks left in the beta read for book #2. Responses still are good, and only minor tweaks will be needed. Onward!

I've just announced the third Royce and Hadrian Riyria Chronicle book. It's available to be shelved now.

Another 2,000 words today on Fhrey, the last book of The First Empire. Still early, but good to know I'm heading for the finish line.

Happy New Year all! Today, I'm going over Robin's copy edits for Rhune. I need to get a final version to the publishers on Jan 5th - so gonna be busy and offline a bit. But did want to wish everyone a great 2015 with some fabulous goodreads!

And done! Robin will get the Christmas gift she wants. Book #4 will be ready and waiting for her read come the morning. Can't wait for her to read it.

Robin is hard at work with the copy edits to book #1...I'm doing a second pass edit on book #4 and hope to have it to her for Christmas. If I do 2 chapters a day I'll hit it on the 23rd!

Yes, the beta changes were finished for Rhune...the book is back in Robin's hands. I've started a second pass on book #4 and so far, it's looking pretty good...Only a few chapters in.

Tomorrow should be the day!! Last day of implementing changes from the first beta read. Then it's over to Robin to see if I've improved the book or turned it into a hot mess. I'm hoping for the former;-)

Work continues on incorporating the beta changes into Rhune. Moving at a good clip now. In other news, more than 1,100 people have signed up for the Hollow World giveaway you can get to a link to enter from my profile page or Hollow World's page.

Editing Rhune based on beta feedback is ongoing. Not moving as fast as I would like it to, but definitely like the changes to the story. Thanks to all the people who participated in the first beta read...and here's hoping the second one in January likes the new version.

For the last few days I've been working on edits to Rhune - thanks to the amazing feedback received so far from the beta readers. With their, and my wife Robin's help (she's come up with some great restructuring suggestions) it is going really well.

Hey, just got an email from my agent (and another from my publisher) that Hollow World is now a nominee for the 2014 Goodread's Choice Award in Science Fiction. I'm honored and thrilled. Thanks so much to everyone who added it as a write-in. I'm eternally grateful.

Very well done. I'm usually a tough critique, but I like just everything about this book, especially Maia. Katherine does an exceptional job with intermixing world building and characterization while moving the plot along and giving me breadcrumbs that lead me seamlessly to the next page.

I'm still mainly "offline" - My wife is sick and I'm at an intense point in my current WIP (Book #4 of The First Empire series). Hope to be back online soon.

For those who haven't seen me around lately...I'm going to be gone for a bit longer. I'm deep into the last book of The First Empire and need to concentrate on that writing while it's flowing as it is. I'm not ignoring anyone - just generally not on line right now. Will be back soon!
