Just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of those who voted for Age of Myth in the opening round of the Goodreads Choice Award. Round #2 will be starting soon and there will be 5 more books added as write-ins. I'm so honored by my 5th Choice Award nomination.

Just backed the Kickstarter for The Death of Dulgath Graphic Novel Adaptation of Riyria: The Death of Dulgath . Dabel Brothers Publishing has put together such an amazing team! Only a just over 1 hour since launch and already they're 15% of their funding goal. I really hope this project gets made.

Doing a last check on the Kickstarter for the Graphic Novel of The Death of Dulgath. The plan is to have it launch tomorrow at noon EDT. There are some reward levels with 20% discounts for "early birds" so jump in early to save some cash!

Tried to get this for my birthday, but was a week late. Anyway...I lowered the price of The Death of Dulgath (Riyria Revelation #3) from $9.99 to $0.99 for two days only. While it is third in a series, it's a stand alone and no prior knowledge of the other books is required. So, if you've been thinking about reading a book of mine - now's a great time!

What's going on? Well, I'm on an archeological dig through all the Riyria books (revelations and chronicles) so I can build a more comprehensive set of reference material. As you might imagine, it's for a new book ;-). Don't want to announce officially until I have more, but it's starting to shape up.

In Legends of the First Empire News, the Beta Read for book #2 has been launched and feedback is coming in!

I'll be at the Arlington Public Library (Central Location - near the Balston Metro from 3:00 - 5:00 today. My wife will be doing a free lecture on Demystifying Publishing and Agent Contracts. As always, her lectures are free and open to the public. If you are in the Washington DC / Northern Virginia area stop by the auditorium on the first floor.

Doing a final read through on Age of Sword in preparation for (a) submission to my publisher and (b) getting feedback from beta readers. Thee chapters to go. Finally word count has turned out to be 156,300 words. So far the only one who has read it is Robin and myself, so I'm looking forward to hearing what others have to say about the second book in the series.

Can't believe I forgot to post. I'm now FINISHED with the Legends of the First Empire series. Now finished isn't the same as done as there is still beta reading, publisher edits, and copy editing to do but much of that is done by others with me reviewing an making minor changes. Going to take a few days off then start figuring out what to write next.

So very close...I may have the edits on the sixth book done today...tomorrow at the latest. Finger's crossed. As I think I've mentioned the last books went through some major restructuring (even changing the series from 5 to 6 books) but I'm really pleased that (a) Robin pointed out the problems she had and (b) I was smart enough to listen to her advice ;-) Really like the way it's come out.

Spent Thursday and Friday out at "the land" staining the interior of the cabin. Man that's SO MUCH harder than writing. Been back at the desk yesterday and plan on getting a lot of writing today. Pretty sore. I really appreciate all the guys who are out doing the "heavy work." Especially given the heat.

Age of Myth has topped 2,000 reviews/ratings, and I couldn't be happier with the results so far: 91% 4 or 5 | 6.5% 3 | 2.5% 1 or 2. Thanks all for giving the book a try, and I'm honored so many people are enjoying it.

Started wring a blog post on my best advice for people considering self and traditional publishing. Doing both has given a good unbiased perspective and it seems to come up so often these days. Hope to have it up soon.

Back from SDCC - had a fun time, but am tired and looking forward to getting back to writing. Thanks for all who came out to say, "Hey" - Really enjoyed meeting you all.

It's day 2 at San Diego Comic Con! Been great so far. Not much going on today other than sitting by the pool and meeting up with some readers. Even been able to get a bit of editing in. The change of pace has been a good one.

Tomorrow we are heading to SDCC 2016. It'll be our first time there...pretty exciting. Hope to see some goodreads people in San Diego either at the convention or at the hotel.

Getting there! Robin has been out of the house lately (critical things needed for the cabin) and that means I've been writing two sessions a day. Only six chapters left and the second-pass editing of the series will be done. The end has needed quite a bit of work, but I'm happy with the results.

Sorry, I've been a little quiet as of late. Been really "heads down" working on these changes to the final book in The Legends of the First Empire. It's going well, but some really good ideas have required more re-writing than I had originally thought. The important thing is to make the story great and that seems to be happening so it's time well spent.

Been out at "the land" for a few days - the cabin is almost to the dried-in state. Back at the office now and working on a slightly revised ending of book #6. All plotted out now, just a matter of finishing it. Shouldn't be long.

Today I'm circling back to finish answering questions for the AMA (Ask Me Anything) that I didn't get through yet. So still time to pose your own questions.

It's release day! Age of Myth if finally released. Can't wait to hear people's impressions (now that the book is available widely). Meanwhile work goes on for final edits of the last book. I'm about 1/2 way through and hope to be done in a week or two.
