Half-way review after the first book!

I found the initial dialogues between Gandalf and Frodo in Bag-End beautiful. Frodo consents to suffering and pursuing goodness in trials he did not choose.

Sam recognizes his smallness and pursues virtue in the midst of it.

The company finds joy within fear and suffering as they indulge in songs and storytelling.

Also some days I’m just a Beren waiting for my Tinùviel.

I’m done with Irish Literature books for the semester and the foreseeable future ‼️

I can already tell this is going to be an incredible book. Pope Francis echoes the message of St. Faustina and other great saints with such an understanding of God’s vast mercy, something our world cries out for in brokenness today.
