Gosh the sexist and patriarchal ideals of Kaigen is almost triggering material - I'm having visceral reactions to seeing Misaki fold and fit herself in that stupid village orz pls I hope she gets a chance to kick Takeru's ass off some mountain straight into the ocean

Gosh this book is so refreshing. I have read books with trans characters before but this is my first from an own voice author. I now realise how trans characters should really be written and I'm so thankful that I don't have to be on guard for potentially transphobic writing.

Love reading stories of kids from orphanages :')) the found family trope is strong in these — even without plot explicitly revolving around it

I have known that beauty is a privilege, but this book is teaching me not only just how deeply rooted the concept of beauty is in us but also how many of us consciously or subconsciously measure ourselves with it.

Also, the allure and standard practice of plastic surgery in Korea has always kept me curious about it so I'm pretty glad I'm finally getting some answers.
