So far so good. Glad to see Chaol repentant for his stupidity. Enjoying this odd change of pace and move towards a character-driven narrative with heaps of court intrigue

I hear everyone talk about Aelin and Rowan, Dorian and Manon, Lysandra and Aedion.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: The best character in this whole series is Elide, and the budding romance between her and Lorcan is the most enthralling romance so far.

I'm liiiiiiving for their chapters

Started this the morning after I finished Manacled and it's been a balm to my broken heart

Went into this blind. Pretty enthralled!

Have only read a teensy bit this week. As I head into the final act, I want to be sure I’m in the right headspace.

I haven’t really been bothered by Chaol until now. He’s pretty stupid and angry in this, huh?

Holding it together. Sort of. It’s such a different experience re-reading it. This book legitimately put me in such a state of anxiety the first time around that when something super scary and stressful happened in my real life the day after I finished, I had a full blown panic attack at work 🙃

Things are improving

It's always hard to know exactly what percentage I'm at on Audible, but I think I'm about here *shrugs*

Absolutely sobbed by the time I came to the end of part 1.
Trying so hard to pace myself.

Believe it or not I haven’t cried yet

This has felt like an extension of book 1. Which isn’t a bad thing, but isn’t that intriguing yet either

Girls, gays, and theys: THIS IS VERY CUTE 💖

It definitely feels like an Ali Hazelwood novel; many of the same elements from The Love Hypothesis are in Love on the Brain, too.

Some non-spoilery key differences?
- our FMC is confident, spunky, and quite funny
- yes we’re still in the universe of STEM but having the story take place at NASA feels fresh
- there’s an aspect of secret identities that is adorable

I can rarely read back to back fantasy sooooo palate cleanser it is 😂

Weirdly starting to get irritated by Lila for (1) being so stabby (2) being so crusty to Kel when he cares about her immensely. I get that she’s lived a hard life and she doesn’t know how to stop running and not be stabby. But arghhh I’m kind of sick of it because Kel deserves better

This whole book thus far has felt like the ending — and that’s a good thing

Ohhh so shit is *really* hitting the fan now

Well shit. Look who ended up loving that.

Approaching the halfway mark, and has anything significant happened? Nope. I can't really be mad because (1) *vibes* (2) the audiobook enables me to do other random shit while listening. Tonight, for example, I took my dog for a long-ass walk in the park where he got FILTHY and then I continued listening to the audiobook while I gave the mangy f'er a bath.

Two more chapters to go before this WIP concludes

After being so deeply disappointed by the first novel in this series, 9 months later I’m ready to give things another shot

For whatever reason, this is taking me a while to read. 70 pages in and were still very much setting things up. I’m hoping it really gets going soon!

New plan is to commit to reading one chapter per day 👌🏼 Even if I’m more obsessed with other things I’m reading 😅

Been reading everything BUT this. Not that this is bad at all! I’m just not sucked in yet. Goal is to finish this before the end of the month because then I want to do a re-read of The Atlas Six as soon as I get my hands on the updated version. (I bought both the FairyLoot and Illumicrate versions and those always ship on at the last possible second 😂)
