The folks on TikTok who were all “it’s terrible 🤮” will be saddened to learn that I do not, in fact, think this series is terrible.

Like any book, I can see why people wouldn’t like it.

But I’m enjoying myself quite thoroughly 🥰

I’m a little concerned that the reason I’m not obsessed with this is potentially due to my interminable mood reader ways. Worse, I can’t figure out what I *am* in the mood for 🙃

I don’t know if I’ve ever had so little to say about a book I was enjoying 😅

I know I said I would vlog my read of this but I’m not going to lie it’s all so straightforward that there almost isn’t very much to say?

I’m enjoying it for sure, but there isn’t much to discuss. At least not yet.

It’s a 3 hour palate cleanser (on 1.5x speed) that I needed to break up a bunch of fantasy novels. It did the trick lmao.

I'm loving this. I've laughed out loud numerous times already *and* it has the fake dating trope which I'm such a sucker for because it's angst of the fluffy variety

(I know that's an oxymoron, just roll with it)

Even the smut is boring. I think what it comes down to is hating things that are overly-formulaic and have never, ever enjoyed anything that gives off a whiff of Hallmark movie fluff.

I think I need to DNF this...

This is too cookie-cutter for my liking. The question is, do I DNF when there’s nothing overtly *wrong* but little holding me captive?

Perhaps an Irish thriller/police procedural/dark academia novel will do the trick?

I far from invested but things are only getting started. We’ll see!

Still can’t decide what the heck I want to listen to. It feels like I’m looking at what’s left in the fridge, desperately trying to build a dish but really I’m ending up with scrambled eggs with peppers and hummus 🙃

In any case, this is queer and cute, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Initial thoughts: ✔️ I like the writing style, ✔️ the business mgmt side of me enjoys the corporate chess games because they read like court politics, ✔️ and I’m invested in the MMC + FMC finding their way past pride and self-preservation until they give into their deepest desires
