I've put off reading this for a while because Brandon has always characterized it as "rough" but I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. There's a lot of details that the graphic novel versions skipped which really flesh it out. Honestly, this is good enough to be published in this form and I'd say it's middle quality for a Sanderson piece, somewhere around Warbreaker.

I should note that White Sand has NOT been published as a prose novel (yet...), but this edition is available for download in TXT format if you join Brandon's newsletter.

A criticism I had of the graphic novel based on this was that because of its format it couldn't go into the detailed worldbuilding I expect from Sanderson. As a case in point, I noted that sailing ships would have difficulty on a tidally locked world. Turns out, Sanderson actually touched on that in one of the first few chapters. Thus far, other than more details, pretty similar story-wise.
