I decided I simply couldn't start reading the Shadow Casket without rereading Ember Blade first (it has been 3.5 years after all)

I'll be honest, I'm 99% sure I figured out a massive plot twist about 10% of the way into the book, and I'm a bit annoyed that nobody in the story has realized it, especially Tress. Admittedly, I MIGHT be wrong, but the chances are very slim.

Wanted to read something a bit quicker and take a break from Wheel of Time, so I decided to try Sharpe, something I've considered before but never gotten around to, but so far so good. I've no doubt that Cornwell must've been inspired by reading C.S. Forester's Rifleman Dodd as the two stories have very similar basic plots, both following British Riflemen stuck behind French lines trying to get to Lisbon.

choking up a little when Nynaeve's out secetly recruiting Malkieri exiles to follow Lan into the Blight; gotta keep it together, no crying at work... Knife of Dreams isn't a great book in the series (like CoT it's too slow for its own good), but it's got some great moments (unlike CoT) and that's certainly one of the most memorable in the series: "Will Lan Mandragoran ride to the Last Battle alone?" great stuff.

The prologue goes ever on and on...
