Honestly, I don't really get the poor reviews this book is getting. No, it isn't the greatest fantasy book ever written, but it's interesting, the writing is good, the world is intriguing and has some imaginative twists, and I like the way Martell slowly reveals that our narrator is unreliable but not necessarily by choice. On the other hand, I am only 1/3rd in, but this seems like a good solid fantasy novel to me.

I finished a book just now, and I felt a slight twinge of regret that I didn't stop at 99% and finish it on Sunday to get an early start on my 2023 goodreads challenge :)

How did I not know that James Stoddard released a third book in the High House series back in 2015? A shocking oversight on my part!

Just noticed that Stormlight 5 has a title: "Knights of Wind and Truth" and turns out State of the Sanderson 2022 is up as of earlier today. No earth-shaking announcements, but always a fun read.

I've recently had a weird issue with goodreads, I'll try to review a book, but when I click the link to start writing a review, the review screen opens up to a completely different book (for instance, I was trying to write a review of In Death Ground just now and it opened up a review page for some book about the French Revolution). Bizarre.
