This is a really bittersweet read; on the plus side, it's one of the best RoF novels in the past few years; on the downside, given Flint's death (and events thereafter), it's probably also the last, leaving the series without any sort of conclusion.

It's basically if the Destroyermen books were about a German WW1 light cruiser which went back to Roman times, which may sound like a knockoff, but others were doing the same thing before Taylor Anderson (Stirling's Island in the Sea of Time comes to mind) so it's fair.

Ha! I knew Zahn wouldn't be able to resist the chance to bring Pellaeon back into canon.

Woohoo! 100 books down! Challenge completed (and unlike the other 2 or 3 times I finished my challenge this year, this time, I'm not going to move the goal posts).
