Not REALLY relevant to anything but out of morbid curiosity I was looking to see if the Thorn of Emberlain had a publishing date yet as I perennially do (it doesn't), and realized Republic of Thieves came out a decade ago this October. So 1 year between books 1 and 2, 6 years between books 2 and 3, and at least 10 years between books 3 and 4. Sad, but it is what is is.

There's just so many very interesting things happening in this book right now: I love it.

"Granny Weatherwax had nothing against trolls but she felt instinctively that if more trolls stopped wearing suits and walking upright, and went back to living under bridges and jumping out and eating people as nature intended, the world would be a happier place."

if I thought Will Wight was going to tone it down for the finale... I would've been a fool :)

It's here! The final volume. I feel like I've been waiting so long for this even though I only started reading the series a year ago (and have read it through twice in that time).

I have very mixed feelings starting this book. On the one hand, Islington's Licanius trilogy was among the best fantasy of the last two decades, so yes, more please! On the other hand, I started reading it and it's written in first person present continuous tense... literally the worst, most unnatural tense ever invented for narrative fiction.
