We tend to think of ourselves, human beings, as
A) totally different from other species, and
B) Autonomous, self-governing beings in control of our behaviors
But let's see ourselves in a different way, for a change:
A) A specie just like other species
B) Not a free agent, but a bunch of neurons governed by the laws of biology
Unfortunately, there's a whole lot of convincing evidence supporting this second view.
