When you forget how iconic Colleen her first lines can be, and you open the book to: "As I sit here with one foot on either side of the ledge, looking down from twelve stories above the streets of Boston, I can't help but think about suïcide."

Also, in the first chapter Ryle already hits you with the "There is no such thing as bad people. We're all just people who sometimes do bad things." and I swear <3

Hello christ? I'm 'bout to sin again

This book has been on my radar for so long, and I finally caved. Oopsie daisy.

I'm so utterly and completely fucked. There's so many things in this book that are bullshit BUT THEN they hit me with the dragons and I can't. I'm such a sucker for both Tairn and Andarna. I could cry because of how cute Andarna is, she is so goddamn precious. And Tairn!? He's so badass, so cool and hilarious. He's just Over It™, playing protective dad for everyone around him. All aboard the 4th wing hype train-

I know, I caved y'all. I was going to, out of spite, petty read this. Then someone pointed out the ridiculously high rating (it's insane) so I decided to go for it. I'm this far in, and it's turning into a petty read again. If I hear one more time how fragile the MC is or how strong this Xaden guy is, I might throw something. I'm not vibing with the writing style so far

I just remembered that DNF'ing is an option, so here we go! I am done trying to force myself to pick this book up, I don't give a single flying fuck about what happens to these characters, sorry not sorry. Byebye :))

I can't believe my first Leigh Bardugo book is going to be Ninth House, and not the Grishaverse (which I've been meaning to read for 2 years) but oh well, here we go.

I know this book is going to break my heart like no other, but here we are. I've put of reading this for at least two years and I'm back on my Marauders bullshit so it's finally time.

And yes I know this is a ao3 fanfic but when something is 1800 (!!!!) pages long, I figure it counts towards my goodreads goal.

I'm honestly considering DNF'ing this shit. I've only read 1,5 chapter and I'm already insanely annoyed by the writing style.
I probably shouldn't have gone into this with the expectations that I had, but someone told me there was a dark, brooding morally grey character in it, which had me sold.
