oh a pure enjoyment scale I’d give this a 3/5 stars but it’s a 2/5 book objectively; the male lead is literally the most problematic guy I’ve ever read about; why does the author think it’s ok for this hot British dude to three time girls and cheat on his girlfriend because he’s fine af? his behavior is straight up NOT acceptable; it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t what I was looking for

uh wow? what an experience 😳 the narrator for the audiobook was so good and I got so attached to the patients; their growth was kind of inspiring and their “journey” was moving; lori’s experience with her own therapist was slow moving but you could see her change overtime and in the end it was really satisfying to see all these real people with happy endings; 4.75/5 stars

when she said men feel pressure from society to keep up their emotional appearance and women feel pressure from society to keep up their physical appearance 🤔

so Lori tried to write a book about how people try too hard to make themselves happy; happiness research from scientists said happiness depends on whether things go better than expected; happiness = reality - expectations; so you can make people happy by telling them bad news then taking it back

first book I’ve planned listening to on just audio and I already like it more than the other memoir/nonfiction I read (which I should have given 3 stars instead of 4 tbh) I didn’t expect the therapist to talk about her personal life so much but it makes her seem more human and it makes the story a lot more valuable in general

painfully aware that this book is the slightest bit basic and cringe but I lowkey love it anyway because I’m a hoe for the elite school trope 😌 weird how low my standards are for this genre but it’s still hard to find good ones; the character development was top tier and the action was just what I needed after that truly devious BS; need more stuff like this fosho; 4.2/5 stars

wow that was some GOOD SHIT honestly this is what I expect from the elite school trope; some good old fashioned violence, betrayal, and cringey scandalous crap 😍😍 plot was kind of intricate and it was predictable but not in a boring way; the love side plot was good, not too much not too little; gotta admit the plot did reply on convenience a little

wasn’t really excited to pick this up but it’s kind of good so far 🤭 the ship is really good too I wish I remembered more about the first book so I could be a little more invested

I did NOT expect this to happen; earlier she insinuated that she was 👀 doing stuff to herself and I didn’t think that’s what it meant until THIS HAPPENED and wtf she was so innocent in the beginning getting all embarrassed and squealing over surfer boy and now ... confusion

this already super lame she literally squealed when the guy talked to her and she’s 17 no one does that :/ I don’t hate it though it’s not bad so far 😌

extremely boring for the first half I wanted to dnf so bad but I had hope that it would get better and it did I guess but it didn’t make up for the dry first half; the plot moved so slow and mostly relied on convenience; def picked up after the murder and the relationship was kind of good; probably won’t continue with the series but who knows

finally back after a four day break to study for an ap test I failed so what was the point :) lowkey wanted to dnf this until now bc nothing happened and there was no progression but we’re finally getting somewhere at 50%

decent start nothing special; good break from studying for ap testing 😌; I like the direction it’s going in

obsessively starts a new book during dinner; high expectations for this one too it better be good 😤

uh ok WOW it definitely met my extremely high expectations; imma just say now it wasn’t as good as the hating game but it was def more wholesome even though there was more 𝓫𝓪𝓷𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓰... weird; their relationship was realistically tumultuous and the pacing was good; characters def had a lot of depth and plot was great; overall quite the 🥺 read; 4.2/5

my favorite part was when henry and alex eiffel towered me in the oval office

kind of annoyed at this book; ngl the character dynamics aren’t great and the plot seems a little dry; why am I bored in the beginning of every book? also she has a boyfriend? please don’t tell me this book involves soft cheating I am NOT about that

It was definitely kind of powerful in a sad way; the romance wasn’t what I was expecting; not sure what to rate it since I hated the first third with a passion I literally wanted to fall asleep but 60%ish had me HOOKED; def better than HTMFWTD, I was more genuinely interested in her story but in HTMFWTD I just wanted to find out what happened at the end; not a 4, maybe 3.5

I didn’t even come CLOSE to crying and it kind of makes me confused because romance that isn’t even meant to me sad makes me tear up; I have to be invested in a certain way to cry and this book didn’t make me invested in THAT way; I definitely liked it even though I only started liking it 30% in which is way too far
