I thought this one was easier to pay attention to than Calypso; it felt like it had less of a point and was more just funny stories but I guess that's fine; Calypso had funnier moments but this one was just better overall; it was good but I'm confused why this book has so many reads? what's so special about it :/

it started super fast then slowed down; the whole thing was obviously super predictable; they’re so good together I ship v hard; Michael is my new fictional crush what a stud 🥵; the whole story was basic but with unique characters; lowkey teared up when she made his mom cry; honestly I thought I would like it more (expectations were really high); it was still good though

kinda cute doeee; I got really excited when Michael started making all the Vietnamese food 🤭🤭 literally dream man; wasian viet with mad style empathy and cooking skills?? I stan; if he was real my parents would love him minus the dragon tattoo; the “not like other girls” element actually worked really well here; love triangle wasn’t bad either

I just feel like this book wasn’t as smart as I like thrillers to be; I don’t care about things being super unrealistic in romance because I’m there for the fluff (not f#ck I mean literal fluff) but in thrillers I want it to make a lot of sense and be super shocking; it’s an engaging story especially towards the end but as a quality thriller it’s lackluster in almost every department; 3.5/5 stars

Even though the plot was very heavily lacking I still think I enjoyed the book a lot; even though it was a mystery/thriller I was really relaxed when I was reading the “boring” part; it’s kind of a chill thriller which I can appreciate; I would complain about the characters being unrealistic but a lot of them are in thrillers; I guess I expect more from thrillers since they’re my so called favorite genre

Dr. Shields was clearly supposed to be a psychopath but the elaborate planning to catch her husband cheating just seemed so unnecessary; I know she was desperately in love but damn it literally couldn’t have been more obvious that these hoes ain’t loyal; seems like the moral is women are crazy and men are trash; also I’m really sad that Jess and Noah never worked out

Why did Jess even stand out amongst the others anyway? Just the fact that she lied to get into the study? apparently she was really interesting when she was answering the questions but they seemed kind of generic; it was especially repetitive when she kept meeting guys at bars, getting mad at Dr. Shields, and forgiving her after receiving a “believable lie” or an expensive gift

Was it supposed to be believable that Dr. Shields was just so beautiful and conniving that Jess believed everything she said? Maybe, but it just doesn’t seem right to me; I was anticipating a bigger plot twist to happen at the end but it kind of just annoyed me; the surprise was completely out of character but it makes a little bit of sense because of her family situation

in the middle I was a little bit annoyed because it seemed like it was moving way too slow; the beginning was super repetitive; it was just errand after errand and each request slowly became more sus; it kind of annoys me that Jess didn’t realize it wasn’t a real psychological study after the meetups started happening; there’s no way a professional study would include that

After I got over the bad writing I thought it was really fun; the dialogue was kind of cringey and obviously the whole thing was super predictable but it’s fine because it was the fun wattpad read I learned to like :) not the most amazing romance but it was kind of cute and satisfying; also I couldn’t stop imagining Ivan as Victor from Yuri on Ice they’re both handsome Russian dudes; is that good or bad...

wow this is the trashiest writing I’ve read all year; the main girl was kind of annoying but I like how she changed throughout the book after meeting Ivan; they were kind of cute together but I feel like they had better chemistry when they “hated” each other; the transition from enemies to friends to lovers was super obvious and not subtle at all

writing is extremely trashy but I am not completely opposed 👀

I feel like it could’ve been named better I still don’t fully understand why it’s called ask again yes; I think the moral is to solve familial issues so they don’t affect your kids like they did with Peter and Kate or to confront them so the problems don’t get worse; the writing was ok but the characters and plot just ... fell kind of short
