my experience was severely hindered by my horrible memory :( I literally do not remember who Peter is and I wasn’t that invested in the story because all the character motivations were tied to the first book and I just DONT REMEMBER ANYTHING; there were a few grammatical errors :/ overall it was kind of meh and very YA; I saw this rating coming

I wish I remembered what happened in the first book because I’m still a little bit lost; the characters just don’t seem familiar to me?? I still like it though—has a very YA feel

the plot and characters just weren't enough for me and the female characters were all written badly in my opinion (all of their storylines were heavily based on sex??); I was the most interested in Arvin's storyline but the other ones were losers in my opinion I just did not like them; the things that happened were inTereStinG; I was engaged but I don't have any strong feelings about it and for that reason I'm out

it's so obvious this book was written by an old white man tbh it kind of bothered me; I see why other people rated this high because the characters were interesting and the plot was well paced ; I was looking for something that's more of a "thriller" and this was more like ... semi creepy events that happen with multiple storylines that converge at the end in a cool way

just so I remember later the book is a literal trust exercise; lots of unreliable narration with 3 storylines about abuse and power dynamics in relationships; it's not clear if anything the narrators said was even real it was kind of trippy but more annoying; also it seems like the school was protecting the drama teacher who's clearly a predator to protect their reputation; very unenjoyable experience :)

loving all the d*ck metaphors like 'damp noodle of flesh' and 'wet mushroom,' very nice; olivia if you're seeing this take it off your tbr you don't want to read it; 257 pages of straight pain, the story behind the story was bs and the actual reading process was so painful I wish I dnfed it after the first 50 pages

Dang I’m FINALLY done; ngl this was kind of dry but I like Michelle so it was slightly better; not much to say tbh it was just like...her life; part where she met Barack was cool then the rest was just there; I think I skipped at least 5% of this book from tuning out and not skipping the right part after falling asleep but oh well :)

I thought it followed the perspectives of 54 students instead of 4 which is a relief because 54 perspectives sounds horrible; the deaths were sad and the motive behind the shooter (Tyler) seemed reasonable although kind of extreme but that's the point, he unstable af; one of the mcs (Tyler's sister/Autumn) got shot in the leg and can't dance :( I'll have to think about my rating for this one, either 3 or 4 star

wow ok I picked this up first because I was pretty sure I wouldn't like it but I guess I did; not sure if this is even accurate but to me it seemed pretty cheesy idk why couples were forming in the midst of a school shooting but I guess I could happen I've never been through one? the writing was pretty good and the plot was super fast paced which was expected; I also misread the synopsis :)

I feel kinda meh about everything except for Ruth and Idgie; I wasn't really interested in the other characters or the murders that seemed... kind of random; not the most coherent plot which I don't mind but there was nothing there to make up for it because I didn't like that many characters :( anyway the vibes were good but just kind of dry; I think this is my 10th 3-star read in a row?? somewhere around there oof
