listening to the audiobook from time to time, kind of tired of Bella since the main attraction for me has always been the Cullens (funnily enough, all of them besides Edward).. Don’t think that I’ll read any of the other volumes though

don’t usually do updates on romanian books but my audiobook glitched right when a character died and they were alive before the audio cut off for 20 seconds and dead afterwards :)))

want to read this SO bad but really dont want to read it at the same time💀 not in a classics mood atm and the huge pause didn’t help (though I really am eager to keep reading, I just don’t have the energy)

this is exactly that sort of book where it’s enjoyable yet not extraordinary BUT it has some paragraphs that when translated to a tv show/movie make you go ‘the book’s better’

read the beginning at the library because I forgot my own books, really fun, relatable and interesting so far

gotta reread all of my annotations and marked paragraphs bc it’s been about 3 months since I read this

currently only doing rereads or audiobooks that I already know the plot of :/ so my profile will be quite boring till late june, unfortunately.. trying to avoid most new content bc i need to cram lots of information for all of my senior year exams

ALSO i wish I didn’t know that there are 10 pages left and he doesn’t die :( the fact that 23 people were left to fend for themselves while this mf ate ice cream and didn’t even pay attention to what was going on around him - hence his internal monologue asking why the dinosaurs aren’t in their paddocks and why the children were allowed in the control room. hope he dies a gruesome death in The Lost World :D

I could honestly write a 10 page essay on how hysterically Evil™️ Hammond is throughout this entire book, this man is either senile or a supervillain or both :)) the movies really upped that ‘worried old Scottish man’ but he only ever does 1 of 4 things in the book:
1)undermine everyone else’s judgement/competence
2)get yelled at by malcolm for being ignorant
3)be safe while the rest are dying
4)evil speech

not that the pace of the plot wasn’t already fast, but right now everything is happening at breakneck speed and I LOVE IT

still really enjoying this, hopefully I’ll finish it by may

1 I was making toast during the trex attack and I nearly had a heart attack it lined up perfectly lmaoo
2 Crichton really didn’t hold back on the Nedry/Dilophosaurus scene that was a goddamn ride
3 ‘Personally, I would never help mankind.’ this entire conversation between Hammonds and Wu was chilling!! Hammonds: ‘This is our triumph, this park’ *several people being maimed in the background*

Henry Wu’s backstory is basically that one textpost ‘every time a scientist gets kidnapped to build a terrible weapon, they think about just bullshitting it, but then a tiny voice in the back of their mind says ‘honestly when’s the next time you’ll get this kind of grant funding?’ :))

also, the compys really just said fuck them kids didnt they (*and the elderly)

the lost world opening scene!! so far enjoying this, I’ve binged the movie franchise at least 3 times now so I figured I’d give the book a go as well - might dnf this at some point bc i’m listening to the audiobook and I might not have the time/be in the mood to listen to all 14 hours of it but we’ll see

god I just really love the gothic (/haunted) mansion/castle niche. You name it, Hill House, Manderley, The Bly Estate, Wuthering Heights, The Marsten House, The House of Usher, the Overlook! This should honestly be a genre in itself because I’m hooked the sECOND there’s a fictional house/estate that acts as a character in the story and has a life of its own

nostalgia reread because I last read this when I was 9-10 y/o and I used to love the series but I only remember the first 50 pages very vividly (might actually be one of the very first books I ever read). it’s obviously dumb but I’m saying this in an endearing manner :) ik this month’s been a rollercoaster in terms of simultaneous reads, I’m just giving mood reading a try
