Really loving this so far. Work has been tough recently and I want to grow more as a designer so I finally dusted this off the shelf to learn more about my craft. Tons of excellent practical advice thus far and the author’s tone is straightforward and funny. Kicking myself that I didn’t read this 8 years ago when my friend Zach gave it me!

Really good stuff. Takes me a while to read each chapter though because the language is dense and different from ours today.

Funny and delightful. Mercifully short chapters. I’m gonna love this.

I wish I didn’t have such a clear picture of the movie though. It’s hard not to imagine the actors; the casting was so brilliant.

The Parting of the Ways is a great chapter. Sets the tone for the rest of the series.

Just finished the chapter where Voldemort comes back and I gotta say, J.K. hasn’t really knocked the Voldemort chapters out of the park (yet). The other chapter Voldemort chapter I’m thinking of would be the Chamber of Secrets. Idk, he just kinda talks a lot and dumps exposition on us. I think that’ll change moving forward.

Harry is practicing stunning spells on Ron and Hermione and Ron suggests Harry ask practice on Dobby instead lmao!!! 😂😂😂 “I bet he’d do anything to help you” hahahaha

The Madness of Mr. Crouch, another great chapter. Every chapter with Dumbledore is sure to be a good one.

Another couple great chapters: Rita Skeeter’s Scoop and The Egg and the Eye. Hagrid talking about his dad is very touching. And the Egg and the Eye is insanely suspenseful and well told. Feels like you’re right there with Harry when h’s caught in the trick staircase. And there’s all sorts of plot threads that start to weave together. My favorite chapter in the book so far!

Yule Ball, iconic chapter. Pretty wild that Hagrid asks Madame Maxime if it was her mom or her dad that was a giant. Gonna make a big leap and guess that her mother was not a human… think about it. lol

I love the chapter where Harry and Ron are trying to get dates to the Yule Ball. So many funny lines! Eloise Midgen getting thrown under the bus lol. And Ron asks Fleur to the ball!! That’s hilarious and honestly that took some balls so idk where that courage came from. Great chapter
