Another great chapter, this one about the domestication of animals. One recurring theme in these food production chapters is that if an animal or plant is not domesticated today, it’s safe to say that at some point in human history, somebody tried to domesticate it and failed or gave up. The “candidate”, as Diamond calls them, must have traits (or a climate) that make it not worth the trouble of domesticating.
