I have been enjoying all of the pages and the usual characters among those I like, until I fell asleep.

I rejoin Armand, Reine-Marie, Annie featured this time, Jean-Guy, Clara, and Myra again. I far prefer mysterious outside of Three Pines and dislike Ruth, Gabri, and Peter. However we see enough of the folks I like and focus on the active team. Louise's fine writing and inner meanings about life, firmly in the genre "standard mystery", never "cozy" fluff always sweep me along in admiration and stirs one's thoughts.

I am glad to be free to spend today reading this with our cats because I can't stop the two protagonists' stories! They are original, a change from the usual "dreary house" fiction and compelling as a result. I love creative deviations from plots we expect above all.

Surpassing 80 pages in my first read-through. Laura Purcell does know how to compell her readers. This is a new copy as a gift. I am a paper book reader, supporter, and collector and buy all of them.

Suddenly I am zooming along, loving the characters as well as Iain McChesney's writing, story, and settings. This is a novel readers need to know about. It is better than trendsetters receiving publicity for being new releases.

Iain McChesney's novel dances around protagonists and places at first but we see right away that his writing is the kind that is very fine. We acquaint characters we like and respect, with connections that are apparent. I am at the point where I am rooting for them and keen on seeing their stories. Starting this novel I was eager to receive and read for a few years by a Scottish-Canadian, was great on my birthday!

I appreciate this novel's originality and the girl and boy who are best friends, even though the author's approach is slow.

A new Canadian to watch for paranormal or magical fare. Get this, guys: thanks to a birthday month present from my thoughtful librarian friend, Shonna; this is my first time reading a book the year it was published! This is so much fun and a rare occasion for we physical book lovers, whose selections are usually bought, not free in advance.

I get reviewers, that this writing style laboriously narrates mundane steps a character takes. I don't mind a book being about a story instead of action. It works with "Anne Of Green Gables" and others. I feel frustated with people who dump a novel if there is no action in the first 100 pages. Do they need car chases? But after 250 pages describing drinking, drugs, smoking, and feeling ill; pump up the mystery!

More slow than necessary but I am interested in how the story will go. Because we don't get to the crux of the mystery portion and this is a family acquaintance story until page 250, people who don't finish books would not reach the turning point.

Please do me and other friends a favour and clean up book entry duplicates! Whenever I want to click "like" in support of books you graded or want to read, the list of friends that pops up is triple and more in many cases. Open your bookshelves. On the left, see the place to click that says "Find Duplicates". There you go: you are cleaned-up and our slow dial-up internet is saved from superfluous page scrolling.

When I chose this and received it new, at full $37.00 CDN hardcover price as a gift, I must have been intrigued by the mystery. I forgot it was not paranormal, which are usually the only books we make allowances for new, with Louise Penny's. I breezed to 72 pages in a go and like it so far, although attacks and "thrillers" are not my lane. Maybe people who do read those think the pace is slow. I don't need speed.

On the eve of my birth month, I made real progress with this educational, scientific, and photographic book by beginning to read it in earnest. Now we are in my birth month, y'all! I think of my Mom more than ever, this is when I miss her most. May she visit me clearly that special day. :)

I can certainly relate to recent grief of one's dear Mom. This short story by eloquently compassionate fellow Canadian, Amal El-Mohtar, is poignant to me from the getgo.

A new Canadian talent discovery! Amal is in Ottawa, our nation's capital in the province just east of ours. I am invested and intrigued in this story straight away.
