These are other riveting storytellers and dear people, Patrick's wife Lisa included, whom I will read every night until I fall asleep. I have more of Patrick's films to watch but enjoy and appreciate more than the blockbuster two. I am glad to hear "City Of Joy" was special to him because it has a lot of heart and is very different from other films by anyone. I was surprised it was not huge and am glad knew of it.

This has panned out to be a romance instead of a mystery. There is background history to discover and lies to correct. However, this a slow-moving story of a Scottish-American standing-up against a selfish uncle of the old-fashioned creole atttitudes in post civil war New Orleans.

I am proceeding slowly because of small print, with a reading tradition I do in bed at night. I would like to think that I have not found the first of my dear Phyllis's stories that bored me. Romance isn't for me but she has always entertained and impressed me with her storytelling. I will certainly give this a chance to warm up.

For a far-sighted lady at the age of needing reading glasses, whose comfortable position is not ideal for gazing through the bottom of a lens; this print is tiny! However, let's see where my dear Phyllis A. Whitney takes us. It sounds more like a romance than a gothic mystery but it will be unique and atmospheric and she normally surprises her readers. New Orleans' presence is palpable.

Fantastic and I have just read of Rob Lowe meeting Michael J. Fox, whose own autobiographies I laud as the best-written and my favourites! Rob in his own unique approach is also riveting, entertaining, and educating me. Michael touched on what show business was like for him. Rob really goes into the complexities of TV versus film, metamorphosing across 4 decades. What invaluable personal and professional insight!

When the spoken word delivered convincingly, sensitively, and articulately is a person's expertise; it should be no suprise when they are exceptional at expressing themselves in writing. Rob Lowe's autobiography is excellent! Eloquent writing, relatable modern dialogue and tone, profound feeling, and intelligent observation. His presentation is engagingly unique. I was riveted, until I dropped asleep holding it.

I love the dear, gifted Martha Grimes and still, am amazed by how much I am enjoying this novel.

One of my favuorite traits about Martha's books along with her masterfully intelligent, witty writing, is how great Richard and Melrose are with children. A child is always important to the plots of Martha's mysteries. Her care for animals shows in this latest serious subject: animal rights. These are "standard mysteries", not "cozy mysteries", that tackle important issues; usually with split or foster families.

The awful subject of deceased animals. Thankfully an animals rights girl stops two boys who planned to burn a cat, or lure ducks and hit them with sticks! Do not let anyone give this series a "cozy mystery" designation; no matter how whimsical the first novel might be. There being humour and everything going right, precludes a "thriller / horror" label. But do not overlook the middle ground: "standard mystery".

Inspiring and honest, with candidly accessible explanations, reinforced with thorough examples as always. A little familiar ground is always covered between books but I'm glad Sylvia expanded on each of the spiritual and metaphysical subjects. I learn something new in all of her releases. If it is an item of common knowledge or common experience, I learn a clear and convincing way of phrasing the things I believe.

Our late Sylvia Celeste Browne is inspiring my once again with her hilarious, commonsense messages for skeptics. They are welcomed, empty cynics serve no one. We can count on an easy, relatable one-on-one dialogue approach but this book leans on the scientific side: DNA of "cell memory". Her rational response to empty cynics of spiritual matters is so well-said and composed; I want to copy it to ward cynics off!

I note a strategy in which a terrible crime is repeated, before Thomas & Charlotte and their peers have enough information to solve it. Most crime authors use it, I imagine. How suspects are affected and unaffected hones in on the right one. The social issues into which Anne Perry casts great light of compassion are different. We love her regular characters so much that we always relish new outings with them all.

In every book wonderful care exudes poignantly about social issues that took eons for London, England to fix. Anne Perry blends real concerns into sometimes grim mysteries that are exciting. They are balanced by a personal touch; solved by a loveable police investigator and his extended, class-varied, compassionate family of friends.
