i was hesitant to read this at first because i'm afraid that this would be another book where m/m romance is either oversexualized or portrayed in a heteronormative way.

it was hot and steamy but i couldn't help but laugh because the whole thing is just uhmm, crazy?? this is really a solid fantasy.

i was in the mood for a redeemable douchebag hero, but the first chapter is already ridiculous.

not as gritty as Pretty Girls but I thoroughly enjoy the police procedurals.

i wanna read this because (1) this book is popular as shit. i wanna know WHY, and lowkey i am wishing i could write as popular as this one and (2) i am curious if this will pull my heartstrings because i just wanna fucking cry today.

I'm almost in the middle and their relationship is just getting worse. Why can't they just talk like reasonable people?

the writing is actually good for a chick lit. but i'm kinda annoyed so far because instead of TALKING like grown up adults, these two focus on their PRIDES and continue pressing each other.

lovers to enemies then back to lovers. how cool is that??? i mean, i'm in!

I'm kinda confused. When I looked at the semi-final round nominees, there are ADDITIONAL entries, books that weren't nominated in the opening round. What is this???

I think Goodreads NEEDS to have a seminar on what books to classify as a ROMANCE. A lot of books from the nominees are not even romance heavy, some leaning more on women's fiction (e.g. Regretting You, The Switch, Lydia Bird, In Five Years)

Also, I'm surprised that some books with high ratings (e.g. Dear Ava) and some other indie books are not on the list. Where is LJ Shen? or KA Tucker?

That's just my take.
