Ed Mitchell was a foster child who later graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He went on to be an Airborne Infantry Ranger, a RAND Corporation Fellow, an aerospace systems engineer, and a community activist fighting to protect water resources in California. By weaving his real-world experiences from foxhole to space into his adventure/thrillers, Ed became a national award-winning author, an Amazon #1 Bestseller, and bronze winner of the Global Book Awards for self-published historical fiction. As a writer, he is proud of being one of the charter-founding members of the nternational Thriller Writers Organization.

Or being a hermit that hides away from people typing away about his imaginary friends and enemies.

But there are those stellar moments when a women or man has read one of my stories and I learn that my words touched their heart, or caused them to feel empathy for a character, or scared them because the story "could really happen". It's at those times that I feel Ive created the magic, just like the authors I read and admired as a kid, while I hid out from having to go home and face what I didn't want to face.(less)
