That generally just takes untangling it and working it out. There are times where I simply don't have anything in the tank left to give. Reading, watching movies, hanging on patios with friends, walks and bike rides all help. Mostly just time.(less)

To Wallow in Ash & Other Sorrows by Sam Richard
"To Wallow in Ash is heartbreakingly beautiful. Reading another's grief as it bleeds out on the page is a hard sell for some, and these stories will probably make you uncomfortable; but they should. Grief as horror teaches us about our humanity and ma" Read more of this review »
To Wallow in Ash, & Other Sorrows by Sam Richard
"Deeply disturbing and oftentimes difficult to read. I commend the author or trying his best to articulate the feeling of grief through weird horror, as being vulnerable is not an easy feat.

“Her jagged pearl teeth dug into my shoulder. Their cold numbed the pain, as trickles of hot blood dripped into the crux of where our chests met, forming a lake that would flow over and onto the floor. I said nothing, but inside I begged her to bite me again, to keep this intimacy going to keep the greater intimacy at bay.”
Sam Richard, Teenage Grave

“My ear pressed against her spine as I caressed her unbeating heart with my hand.”
Sam Richard, Teenage Grave

“What is death, but a final and sudden erosion of our identities into nothingness?”
