இந்த குழுமம் முழுவதும் நமது தலைமுறையினரிடத்தே குறைந்து வரும் புத்தகம் வாசிக்கும் பழக்கம் பற்றியும். அதை மீட்டு வர வாசிப்பு பழக்கத்தை தூண்ட யாரைப்போன்ற இந்த குழுமம் முழுவதும் நமது தலைமுறையினரிடத்தே குறைந்து வரும் புத்தகம் வாசிக்கும் பழக்கம் பற்றியும். அதை மீட்டு வர வாசிப்பு பழக்கத்தை தூண்ட யாரைப்போன்ற எழுத்தாளர் வேண்டும். எத்தகைய கதைகள் வேண்டும் என்பதை பற்றி விவாதிக்கலாம். எப்படியும் புதிதாக வாசிப்பவரிடத்தில் "ஒரு புளியமரத்தின் கதை", "18வது அட்சகோடு", "ஒரு மனிதன் ஒரு வீடு ஒரு உலகம்", ஏன் "காடு", இன்னும் பிற கிளாசிக் நாவல்கள் செல்லுபடியாகாது. அதை கிரகித்துக்கொள்ளும் சக்தியும் அவர்களிடத்தில் கிடையாது. நான் கண்டவரை ஆங்கிலத்தில் கூட அவர்கள் நல்ல கிளாசிக் புத்தகங்களை படித்ததாக கண்டதில்லை. நான் சிறுவனாக இருந்த பொழுது வாண்டுமாமா --> தமிழ் வாணன் -> கோவி மணிசேகரன் -> கல்கி -> ஜெயகாந்தன் என என் வாசிப்பு நீண்டு இப்பொழுது கிளாசிகில் வந்து நிற்க்கிறது. ஒரு முடமான சதுரப்பெடியில் சிறுவர்களை ஆடவைதும், பாடவைத்தும் பொழுதுகளை கழிக்கும் நம் சகாக்கள் பலரை (என்னையும் சேர்த்து) புத்தக உலகிற்கு அழைத்து செல்வோம். எனவே இப்போது தமிழுக்கு எத்தகைய எழுத்தாளர் தேவை எந்த மாதிரியான கதைகள் தேவை என இதில் பரிந்துரைக்கலாம். இதை இன்ன பிற வலை தளங்களிலும் பகிரலாம் இது மூலமாக வாசிக்கும் பழக்கம் வளருமாயின் அதற்கான செங்கல் தூக்கிய அணில்களாவோம் நாம். இதை ஒரு எழுத்தாளர் வாசிப்பரையின் நாம் மிகவும் பாக்கியம் செய்தவர்களாவோம். ...more
