I can't believe the release of SOMETHING LIKE FAMILY is September 12. This is a book that was inspired by a trip to the mountains when my husband and I needed to "unplug" for a while.
I wasn't certain how it would hit readers, but I'm thrilled to say, it has the highest star rating so far of all of my books. It's sitting at a 4.85 stars here on Goodreads. I guess needing to "unplug" is something universal. Other themes of this book are family finding each other after a long separation, trust, hope, multilayered conflict, and acceptance.

It's hard to believe Something Like Family has released into the world. This book of family and hope began germinating in my heart when we saw a beautiful monument while vacationing in the mountains of North Carolina. Standing guard over the town, a stone soldier honors the men of Bryson City, North Carolina who lost their lives while serving their country.
I was moved.
I knew I had to tell a sim... Read more of this blog post »

message 13: by Linda

Linda Heather, I had to write and let you know that I am currently reading: In The Light Of The Garden. It is taking me a bit longer because my husband has been in the hospital. He went in Sat. Sept. 30th and was leased Oct 7th. It was a long week and he had surgery where they checked some lymph nodes in his stomach for cancer. They came back neg thank goodness. He has a blood clot where he had to have his spleen removed last year. I had to take him back Tues around 7pm and they did not even get him back in the ER room until the following morning at 5am.. Then in a regular room that night around 7pm. He has an infection where they did the surgery, on the inside. It’s been a very stressful time and I just have not been able to concentrate on anything. But I am LOVING this book so much. I had to let you know because it never takes me this long to read such a good book. On a positive note though I am enjoying it and happy it won’t end so quick. :) It’s a great story. I hope you understand and believe you do. I do love your books. I have a couple more to read too. Thank you and have a beautiful evening.
