Does this choice simply shift work to other parties in our organisation and is that beneficial for the business?
A Tech Lead definitely needs to think broader than their own team/business group and work with other tech leads to help ensure the org is moving in a consistent technical direction, regardless if there already is formal leadership at a higher level supposedly already taking care of those cross-team issues.
