Citizens, the nineteenth century is great, but the twentieth century will be happy.
This line follows me in my life. It's bittersweet. He turned out to be so wrong, so much more wrong than he could ever have possibly imagined he could be, but he was also right to hope, and it wasn't wrong of him to hope. We need this kind of hope in order to build a better future. Without it, we are lost.
