“দূরের বাড়িঘরের জানলায় জানলায় জ্বলে উঠছে সার-সার টিপটিপে আলো। ওসব কাদের গল্পের আলো? কাদের জীবনের ফুলকি? কারা ভালোবাসায়-বেদনায় সাজিয়েছে এই সব আলোর সংসার? সমস্ত ভালোবাসা দিয়ে, বুকে করে, কারা ঝড়বাদলেও আগলে রাখছে এইসব আলোর ফোঁটা? এই সব বাড়িঘর - এসব কাদের বাসস্থান? কারা থাকে এখানে? কারা ক্রমাগত মরে গিয়েও বেঁচে ওঠে আবার! ভালোবাসে আবার! বিশ্বাস করে আবার! আবার ঝুলন সাজায়। এ কাদের ঝুলন-শহর? কাদের এই বাড়ী? এ কি সত্যিই জোনাকিদের বাড়ী?”
