জন্ম কুমিল্লায় এবং বড় হওয়া ঢাকায় তৌফিক সরকার পড়া লেখা করেছেন টেক্সটাইল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিংয়ে। পছন্দ করে করেন বই, সিনেমা, টিভি সিরিজ ও অ্যানিমের মধ্যে ডুবে থাকতে। বইয়ের প্রতি ভালোবাসা থেকেই সাহিত্যজগতে আসা, এবং শুরু অনুবাদ দিয়ে। প্রথম অনুবাদ হচ্ছে 'রেডি প্লেয়ার ওয়ান’ এরপর একে একে আসতে থাকে 'দ্য প্রেসিডেন্ট ইজ মিসিং’, ‘শ্যুট দ্য পিয়ানো প্লেয়ার’, ‘মারশিয়ান ক্রনিকলস’, ‘ওয়ান্ডারিং আর্থ এন্ড আদার’, ‘দ্য কৃষ্ণ কি’, ‘বিনিথ দ্য ডার্ক আইস’ ও "দ্য টার্মিনাল লিস্ট”। তার সাম্প্রতিক অনুবাদ হচ্ছে ‘লোনলি ক্যাসন ইন দ্য মিরর’
