| Very involving and very entertaining. The basic plot -- sci-fi murder/sabotage/cat-and-mouse mystery -- is pretty standard-issue; but the writing, the narrative voice and the Murderbot character are great. Intriguing exploration of self-aware AI. Plu ...more | |

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

“True, I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy,
Which is as thin of substance as the air,
And more inconstant than the wind, who woos
Even now the frozen bosom of the north,
And, being anger'd, puffs away from thence,
Turning his side to the dew-dropping south.”

Heh, we can blame it on Gavin being a mutual friend and S. Lynch fan! Yep! :)
Speaking of S. Lynch, take a look at this interview of his which I read yesterday. He speaks about his depression and a lot of other interesting stuff:

Hi, Armina! Thanks for friending me. Yeah--we have been following each other awhile...I think it all started with Gavin being a mutual friend and S. Lynch fan.Don't even worry about the time it took you to answer. I honestly didn't notice a delay, as I've been occupied myself.
Thanks for looking at more of my reviews. Looking forward to further comments, etc.
Hey Callista! Thank you for the friend invite! We have been following each other for ages here in GR so I'm glad you took this final step. ;) I've been awfully busy these last 3 days so I'm sorry for the delayed answer. Just managed to read some of your reviews and I'm glad we have a lot of fave books in common. More comments from me later. :)
Thank you for the comment, and for the support and encouragement. I know it is the support of people like you that will help me beat this thing... :-)
Hey, guys--can you help me out, please? I need recommendations for Batman books. I'm just sort of a dabbler in comics/graphic novels; but for what it's worth, I'm sort of a Marvel girl. While I love the very idea of Batman and love the Christopher Nolan-Christian Bale movies, I have never read a Batman book. I've heard that the first movie was somewhat based on Year One. I also really like more realistic art--like Ron Garney's and Steven McNiven's in Marvel Civil War. What should I try?
