As he screwed off the craftsman's hands and replaced them with the assassin's more brutal and claw-like appendages, he thanked God for giving him this kind of versatility; and his God responded a jolt of pleasure and a promise of more when the gruesome job was done.(less)

"This book radiates a fierce, almost unsettling beauty. It isn’t simply about survival or power, it’s about what happens when the rawness of nature, the fragility of flesh, and the cold logic of code all collide. There’s a sense of reverence threaded " Read more of this review »

“We are the magic. And the sooner we can stop looking for it everywhere except within ourselves, the better off we’ll be.”
Dale L. Sproule

“I had read and admired Ballard and Burroughs, and I thought of them as very powerful effect pedals. You get to a certain place in the story and you just step on the Ballard.”
William Gibson

“The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. You can change the way people live their lives. That's the only lasting thing you can create.”
Chuck Palahniuk, Choke

“A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject.”
Winston S. Churchill

“Who knew death could lead to an eating disorder?”
Corey Redekop, Husk

“It's about permitting yourself to touch the weird in search of the amazing.”
Nick Harkaway
