Oh well I'm touched you noticed I was gone, haha. I haven't been able to read any ID books in awhile because I have this "reading list" set up for me by a friend, and I gave my word I'd follow it. She knows i ADORE ID books so her logic was to put Delusion as far towards the end as she could so I would have "motivation" to read the 20-something other books -.- As a result by the time I got to Delusion the next one had already come out! Haha, however to get my fix I have been deviating from the reading list to reread the series. Rereading-wide, I just finished Reunion

Of course I'd notice your absence! Your reading plan, though, sounds like fun. We've got a topic set up just for posting what books other than In Death you're reading so please share!
Glad to have you back.

  Glad to have you back.
I just finished Naked In Death in audio.
I just finished Naked In Death in audio.I previously read through 8 or 9 some years ago. I was amazed that there are now over 30 books!

Oh good to know Stephanie. We just finished a Buddy Read of Naked In Death. Several of us are strolling back through the series! Please consider joining us. We start Glory In Death is a few days...check out the buddy read thread.

Catherine Elizabeth wrote: "Is it worth getting it on audio as well? I have been thinking about it!"I read one book on audio. It didn't suck, but I realized it's not for me. However I'm sure they're great to have along if you wanted to read and drive (since the other option is highly frowned upon) or jog and read or something of the sort :) you could try it for a couple books and see if you like it!
A critical point for audio books is to make sure you get the unabridged addition. That can also affect your enjoyment.

I think she's referring to the In Death audiobooks.
Catherine Elizabeth, those that listen to this series swear by the narrator, award-winning Susan Erickson. I started the series reading the books and had formed pretty distinctive voices for each character. I couldn't switch to audio for that reason...her Roarke sounds nothing like mine and I'm not willing to give him up.
Now, if that's not an issue for you, I encourage you to try one. They're very popular.

That's a good point since I had listened to an ID audio book relatively early I didn't have that problem. I was drawn in by the narrator immediately.

which was pretty good, but even on their time I still think cloning is something waay out there. Took me a while to get into this one.

I haven't been reading the in Death books for awhile. I had been so caught up in the books that I started to get burned out. I hate that, because this is the only series I have ever consistently read. I am now unburned out, so I am going to start off at the beginning and reread them-but pace myself.

THAT'S the same exact reason I don't!!! Plus her Peabody isn't how mine is either :)

I haven't been able to do the audios...can't stand that voice in my head. I know how I think Roarke sounds and that's not it.

Reading all the comments above, I think might try "Naked in Death" in audiobook and see how I get on with that. Just like you, the voices are quite clear in my head so... We shall see!

I hope you like it too, Catherine. People say great things about the narrator. I've just formed such strong attachments to Roarke & the others' voices in my head! Too late for me, I'm afraid.

I intend to join you guys when you get to "Witness in Death" as I have just read the 9 previous ones (all within the last month)! So I am trying to be patient and wait for you guys before I start #10...hehe.

Hmmm...Seeing that it is a book a month, I doubt I will be able to wait that long! I might as well join you guys now and read other books at the same time! :)

We'll do more than a book a month, I imagine. I'm just labeling with the month and year so as we get further along in the series, we can easily look back and identity our buddy reads and when we read them. You don't have to reread it since you just did...just join in the discussions!! So glad you decided to!

Restarted the series for the 4th time (I think though it might be 5th...lol) and I'm up to Judgement...(view spoiler)

In both cases, he had what Eve called "blinders" on. He can't see it himself while others can. In his mom's case, he was COMPLETELY blindsided by the fact that he had a mom who actually cared for him and tried to save him rather than beat him around. As for Magdalena, well, he had no excuse with that one. Roarke has a super possessive side when it comes to Eve, so knowing that Webster and Eve slept together, even just once, and Webster has feelings for Eve, his protective/possessiveness dial cranked to max. It's not Eve that he doesn't trust, it's Webster. Same thing with Magdalena, it's not Roarke that Eve doesn't trust, it's her. I wanted to shake him in Portrait for making Eve have doubts, and slap him some in Innocent for hurting Eve when he's so blind to her feelings. Funny considering he always notices how she feels even before she does.

When you're working from the app, just do something like ***SPOILER ALERT - INNOCENT & PORTRAIT IN DEATH*** in front of your comments. That'll work because those of us that have read these two books will want to read your comments.

Let me know if you need more help. Just a reminder to all, we have several members who are new to the series. Let's let them have that first time discovery of this wonderful series.

I have wifi for the day and am having my coffee. Just thought I'd check in:) It's 8:15 am Tuesday here and nippy!

Lucky you, Jonetta...Wifi and Coffee and a book, I'm guessing...it doesn't get much better than that! Enjoy.

My apologies to Starshine...I'm supposed to be on vacation and letting her manage. Signing off and now minding my business and leaving her to it!

You better...we're looking forward to it. That's the only way I'll ever see some of those places.
