I'm listening to it right now and MAN! I think it's sort of perfect. It has a little of everything I love about the In Death series!

February 15, 2013Back to the “cloth covered button”.
Taking a break from all the other books I have going, Monday I began to re-listen to the series, starting with “Naked In Death”.
I don’t know which chapter, but on the third disc, right after Roarke has kissed Eve for the first time, she has gotten a dispatch to attend to the 2nd murder and she leaves … Roark pulls out the “cloth covered button”.
.
Months later ... :) ... wanted to clarify.
thanks.r.
I'm about to start reading strangers in death. I just got it from the library. It seems like an awesome some based on thecomments. But then again what JD Robb book isn't. Strangers in Death

I liked this one as it was based somewhat on the movie, Strangers on a Train, which is a classic.

impatiently waiting for the next one! by this time next week I should be finished with it and waiting impatiently again :)

I'm a bit behind you since I'm reading Fantasy in Death, but from all your comments I have to say I'm a little worried about whatI 'll do once I'm right on track like you....

That's the conundrum... Do you continue to devour the books and then play the waiting game? Or, do you take your time, even though you're dying to get to the next book?
I only faced this dilemma after I'd re-read the series 3 times:)

I think I already have the answer to that one. I devour the books and then I will inevitably have to play the waiting game..... There's just not another way for me and I really admire those, who can take their time with this series!

I'm playing the waiting game for now. I finished Portrait in Death some 5 days ago and now I'm surfing through contemporary romances. :)

Treachery in death, on the other hand, was incredible! One of my favorite In Death books!
Now I'm about to start New York to Dallas, is it as good as Treachery or....

Yes, definitely. And I do like it very very much for that reason. But the bad guy is SOOOOOOOOO SCARY!!!!

Just finished Calculated in Death and just reread Delusions in Death. Delusions was so serious, but there was a comic moment when Dallas told one of the officers to get mad at her to fool there suspect. Afterward the woman said something like you thought I was acting? Then Dallas said, "Unless you want a 30 day Rip." The officers partner said, "I told you she wouldn't fall for it."

I'm rereading them all right now. I started at the beginning and I am now on the second half of Remember When. I've already read them all at least once (most of them more than once), except for Calculated in Death.

I'm reading Ceremony in Death. I have read Calculated in Death, but I've only read the whole series one time.

Wendi, have fun with your re-read!
Gina, I didn't realize this was a re-read for you, too.
Are you both discovering things you may have missed the first time?

Sorry. Jonetta, it's funny because this has been my favorite series for years, and I thought I new it inside and I out. I am noticing things I missed before. I read Imitation just before this one. Some of the things I remembered perfectly ( *SPOILER* Peabody taking the detective exam and becoming Eve's partner), but I couldn't remember who the killer was for the life of me. Lol. I was starting to question if I had even read the book, but I did remember some parts.

I'm right there with you, Wendi! I'm a lot more likely to remember the personal stuff than who the killer is! Haha!
I'm right there with you, Wendi! I'm a lot more likely to remember the personal stuff than who the killer is! Haha! Also, it looks like you're fairly new on goodreads! Welcome! I've been around since 2007, and I love it! A couple tips that might help you out a bit:
You can "edit" your own comments (if you accidentally post something before you mean to, spot a glaring spelling error, etc.)... At the bottom right of your post, it says "reply | edit | delete | flag *" and you just click edit (or delete if you want to go that route).
You can also use some basic html to actually mark spoilers. At the top right of the box you type in to comment, there's a link called "(some html is ok)" which will show you all the different options. For spoilers, you type:
< spoiler>type all sorts of spoilery goodness here< /spoiler>Except delete the spaces before spoiler and /spoiler.
It'll look like this: (view spoiler) I don't remember which book that was in, but whatever!
You can do the same thing to < b>bold< /b>, < i>italicize< /i>, < u>underline< /u>, etc.

Thank you so much, Sara for help with tips we take for granted.
Wendi & Sara, it's the reason I asked the question. The first time I read the series, I went so fast I knew that there were probably details I'd missed and found that to be true on the second read. What surprised me even more was I continued to find stuff I missed in the third read!!!

Me, too! The first time I listened to the series, I read from Naked to Possession in under 3 months! So I DEFINITELY missed stuff! I'm still discovering things, even with the books I've read 5 or 6 times now!

I am with you Sara. I have read and/or listened to the entire series about 5 times now, but that is in the past year. At least in the books I read/listen to the least, I always find I something I missed or forgot about that causes a hmmm moment. Which is one of the reasons I can keep re-reading them.

Now, Dee, that's the part I get and it can sometimes be embarrassing the minutiae I can recall. But, I can't remember where I last left my shoes.

Same here! I remember scenes and whodunit and why but names and book titles, nada.

I remember who did it, usually. I don't always remember WHY though. And personal stuff? Not a freaking clue, except for the first 4 books, as they have the biggest personal things, you know? They meet, they fight over the diamond necklace and Eve's unwillingness to commit, they get engaged, they get married, they come back from their honeymoon and Roarke almost gets killed. After that, though. *shrugs* I remember that book 6 is where we find out a lot more about Roarke's past and book 9 is where Eve (view spoiler). And after that I'm fairly lost. Except for Born in Death. The title always reminds me of what happens at the end of that one. Dead giveaway!

I always try to find a relationship with the title and what happened in the story to help with recall. There are some, though, that I always get mixed up.

Finished Delusions in Death and anxiously waiting for Calculated in Death to be mailed to me in September.
