Purity in Death, I just started the series in February so it looks like I have some catching up to do :)
I've read the series through twice but some books deserve more than twice through--I love to listen to the books, Susan Erickson is a wonderful narrator. Naked in Death is the perfect series starter. I am patiently waiting for the next book in the series--#35.
Purity was great! I'm waiting for the next book, too. I have a GR friend that gets ARCs of all the In Death books to write reviews for an online magazine, and she just reviewed Delusion in Death... Drives me crazy with jealousy!!!
I'm about 1/3 through Innocent In Death and I'm not liking where it's heading. Oh, the murder mystery is fine, but I'm in knots over the trouble Magdelana "Maggie" is going to cause for Eve/Roarke. (Yes, I know this is fantasy, but these characters have grown on me!!) His old love is already an under current, but she's just getting started. Maggie's going to play Roarke, and Eve isn't sure how to handle it. I know in the end they're still together....I just don't like the angst. LOL! J.D Robb is doing a great job twisting the emotional angle....sigh.

My friend also have an ARC of Delusion and I keep my jealousy in bay ;).
@Lindap : Innocent in Death is make me angry too. But I love how Eve and Roarke handle this problem with Magdelana.
I have read up to the 18th book before and then just stopped reading them for some reason, now I'm back on them and just about to finish off Rapture in death and cannot understand why I stopped reading these books, I love them :D
I've been rereading the latest books while waiting for Delusion. In the last couple weeks, I've re-listened to New York to Dallas and Chaos in Death. I'm finishing up another short audio, then I'll tackle Celebrity. Then I should have Delusion!
I'm listening to Vengeance in Death..... how involved am I that I'm jealous that Roarke kind of loved a woman before Eve???
I'm with you Ame! Even though Eve is never really bothered by it (usually... no spoilers!), it always bugs me FOR her! ;)
Jonetta wrote: "Ame, what woman was that???"I forget the name, but I think she is one of 6 Roarke's close friend that got killed in the third time. Woman who also make Brian smitten :)

Ren, if this is the story I think, I believe the woman's name is Magdalana (that may be spelled incorrectly; I don't read the books, I listen so I never see the text.)
thanks.r.
@Rosemary : No, not Magdelana. Magdelana is in Innocent in Death. And I believe there's no mention of Magdelana in Vengeance
Jonetta wrote: "Her name was Jennie O'Riley."Oh right. Sorry 'bout that. I misread Ren's message, you were talking about the six friends that were murdered.
Thanks for being our own "wikii" for "In Death".

Everything must be from memory because there is no way to go page through and find the details. If I had to pass a test about what story goes with what title, I'd fail grossly.
Memory from what is seen and memory from what is heard isn't stored the same; it makes it more challenging.
thanks.r.
Yes, Jennie! It's with an "ie", eh? I never know how to spell anything either, as I'm an audiobook fan! :) And Rosemary—I've read the entire series 2x, my favorites 3-4x.... and I still don't remember details! Haha!

Sara: thanks for the encouraging words. AND you did make me laugh, I thank you for that as well.

12/12/12Last time we will have a day/month/year with the same number, in this century. Wanted to make note of that.
Where am I in the series:
I'm on the 2nd disc (don't know which chapter) of "Delusion in Death". At this point, they are just starting the interviews, so I've a long way to go.
If there is anyone else reading this title, just at the start of this title, and would like to have a discussion as we move forward together, I'd be glad of that.
thanks.r.
I just got the first 16 on audio so I am starting over and listening to them all. This will be the 4th or 5th time I have done it, but this time I own the books.
Yes, than as the audios were marked down to $12 or less at an audio book store I slowly picked them up.
I know I have read all the books at least twice it could be three times. I also have them all on audio. I can't even guess at how many times I've listened. Best guess I would say I have listened from book 1 - current release at least 5 maybe 6 times. I drive a lot and rather than listen to the radio I listen to these stories over and over. I don't get tired of them and even though I know the stories inside and out I enjoy it every time.
I read all of the books at least once. I think I've read the first two four or five times. I love that Eve and Roarke are really strong controlling characters. In many books the man is all controlling and the woman is all soft and needs protection.

I'm on Haunted in Death. Doing the audio versions when possible. Love Susan Erickson's reading of the material.
