Just finished Out of the Ice by Ann Turner. It felt like it could've easily been written by Jaye Ford. It reminded me a lot of Darkest Place and like that book, this was one was just as boring...when I wasn't reading it.

Have you read her previous one Elias? The Lost Swimmer came out last year and I really enjoyed it!
I haven't but I'll be very interested in reading more of her work! I really enjoyed this one! It seems the Antarctic is a very popular place for thrillers haha!
She's off to a pretty good start! I may have neglected The Lost Swimmer as I walked past it on the shelves today.

Hi Phynne Still going, it is not a fast read, lots of characters to keep track of, lots of unfamiliar terminology around the structure of the police force etc, but the two main story lines have pulled me in, and I will keep going.... will give you an update when I finish!

An interesting but slow read, a detective novel translated from Japanese. 3 and half starts
4.5★ for Megan Miranda's backwards-told mystery 
All the Missing Girls
Good characters, good story, creepy woods. Two girls disappear, ten years apart. Nic seems to be connected to both.

I enjoyed this mystery The Beauty of the End by Debbie Howells 4★.It's had a few mixed reviews, I think partly because the characters are not very likeable but it's a different sort of mystery with the main character in a coma and her ex fiance trying to put together the pieces of what has happened to her.

Finished He Who Fears the Wolf by Karin Fossum
Most of the story was about characters other than the police - a loner, a schizophrenic recently escaped from a mental institution and the only witness - a twelve-year-old boy.
A bit different - still enjoyed it and will continue to read this Inspector Sejer series.
