PattyMacDotComma | 818 comments 3★ for the quite real story of sex-trafficking, The Black Lens by former reporter Christopher Stollar, who spent three years researching this. He's also donating 10% of earnings from this to fighting the dreadful business.

Believable scenarios (all of them bad).

Mark Tilbury (marktilbury) | 16 comments I've just finished and thoroughly enjoyed Hindsight by Melanie Casey. Melanie is Australian and Hindsight is the first in a series of books about Cass who has a unique psychic gift that could help police solve a string of murders.
Here's my 4* review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Hindsight isn't one I've read yet Mark, but I know a lot who have, and enjoyed it as well :)

Suz | 487 comments A 3 star read from an author I've not read before. Broken Silence by Danielle Ramsay. My review is here:

I'd like to read the rest of the series too but the prices of books 2 and 3 are much more expensive then Hindsight is!

Often the way :( I usually try my library when the kindle is too expensive :) Do you have one nearby?

We don't have an actual thread for Buddy Reads in this group Tanya so here is as good a place as any to ask!

Christine | 4 comments Just finished The Night Stalker (DCI Erika Foster, #2) by Robert Bryndza by Robert Bryndza and thoroughly enjoyed the second book featuring DCI Erika Foster. If you are after a fast paced action thriller with a strong female lead, this book will tick all the boxes. Hoping it's not too long await for the next book.

I enjoyed that one Christine. Here's hoping this is going to be a good, long series.

PattyMacDotComma | 818 comments I see mixed reviews for this mystery. All Is Not Forgotten by Wendy Walker.
All Is Not Forgotten by Wendy Walker

Mine is one of the lower-ranked ones. I did round up on the stars, though.

2.5★ Sadly not one of my better choices. Wasn't what I was looking forward to.

My review is not very flattering, I know.

Neville | 84 comments Finished first Will Trent novel Triptych Triptych (Will Trent, #1) by Karin Slaughter by Slaughter, Karin

A bit violent and gruesome, gave it 4 stars.

Just got the 8th one in this series - assuming I am going to read them all at this stage.

Love that series Neville!

message 2389: by Neville (last edited Aug 17, 2016 11:36PM) (new)

Neville | 84 comments I will definitely go for them all then.

I have my "structured" routine where I have 5 murder/mystery/crime/suspense series and 1 of other genres and read one of each so I cycle around the 6 authors/series. I find this means I don't get bored with any long series.

Since joining the group I have added a few more to my want list and I now have over 2000 books on my "to read" list.

Wonder if I will get to read them all - currently reading 120 books a year, but now that I am retired I can read more. Have read 80 for the year so far in the Goodreads yearly challenge.

Oh well done! That's great :) I vary mine too - I don't understand my husband who reads the same author one book after the other until he's finished the series, then goes onto another! I need the variety of genres to break them up I think :)

Phrynne | 5453 comments Mod
I can do it either way. If the series is really good I just hoe into it! I remember when I discovered Terry Pratchett I just read his books straight through.

message 2392: by PattyMacDotComma (new)

PattyMacDotComma | 818 comments Organ donation, organ memory, flashbacks to the donor's murder? Can it happen? A Secondhand Life by Pamela Crane says YES.

3.5★ for a mystery based on an idea that's gaining some interest in medical (and certainly thriller-writer) circles!
