message 74: by Deb (new)

Deb (soulhaven) | 21 comments I am reading Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie and LOVING it. I'm writing some fantasy novels myself and while I find it pretty easy to add romance, gruesome things don't come so naturally to me. But, I love the emotional upheaval that comes with brutal things being done to a main character ... and so I am taking notes! Very much sword rather than sorcery at this stage. But, I'm guessing there is magic to come ...

message 75: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (aboydesigns) | 5 comments currently reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare as think the romance triangle with Jem, Tessa and Will is far better plotline than The Mortal Instruments City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare .. Just finished the Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate series by Lauren Kate recently and loved it.. Def in my Top 5 books

This book is kicking my butt so far, but I'm determined to finish it before the school year ends, hopefully my school library doesn't get mad at me for holding it for a few months ;)

I had a similar issue with writing my novel because while i could add romance, i had a hard time articulating fight scenes lol

Lianne (eclecticreading) I am currently reading Daniel Abraham's The Price of War, the second omnibus to his Long Price quartet. I had been waiting forever for this quartet to come out as an omnibus so I was really excited to be finally reading it. It's an interesting world and I kind of can't put it down; last night I stayed up and just read through An Autumn War so now I'm in the last installment of the series xD
