2012 July Pick It For Me! Challenge
Hello Breann! (:
Here are your picks - I tried to make a mix between your TBR shelf and my favorite books, hope you can find something for yourself, otherwise I can pick again. ^^
1. Blockbuster Hit - One For The Money by Janet Evanovich or Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn. I have the first one on my TBR for awhile and I saw you have it too - they say it's a good series and if I remember correctly a movie based on this book came out recently? As for the second - J. Lynn is the pseudonym for Jennifer L. Armentrout for her adult books, otherwise she's a YA author, but she can kick ass in both genres. (:
2. Tearjerker - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak or P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. You don't have these two on your shelves but I cried a river when I read them last year. I'm a cry baby when it comes to books/movies/music so it might be just me.
3. Independent Film - Okay, I had some problems with picking in this category. Lately I've been mostly reading YA so I only know what's going on in those waters, sorry. Amanda Hocking was at first self-published author and know she's quite book, you can read her Switched. Or perhaps Lacrimosa by Christine Fonseca - I haven't read the book yet but it has an average rating of 4,75 among my Goodreads friends so I guess it's very good. (:
4. Enduring Classic - The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter has been on your TBR for awhile, I heard a lot of good things about her books, perhaps it's time you pick that one up? And the same goes for Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas. ^^
5. Sequels, Sequels - Most of the next in series you have on your TBR aren't yet released, however Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James was released June 26 or you can read Retreat by Mari Carr. I discovered this author only this week actually. I saw you read quite some books written by her so maybe pick this one up as well.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat: Basically in every PIFM I recommend If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon, I loved that book. You can also read Bared to You by Sylvia Day, it got a lot of buzz recently, I like it more than 50 Shades and it's quite intense. All the characters are quite messed up but that makes it even more interesting. (:
--> Buddy Reads:
6. Summer Hit - Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill, we both have it on out piles and I don't know... it seems like a light, funny and quick read.
8. New Release – Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost was released a few days ago and it seems very interesting. Perhaps we can read it together + I'm sure other people would like to join in on this one.

1. Blockbuster Hit - I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone its a favorite and I can't wait for the sequel! Or Dead Until Dark - I wasn't sold on reading this series but thought I would give it a try, way better than the show!
2. Tearjerker - City of Lost Souls or Winter Garden This was recommended to me and it was a very touching read.
3. Independent Film - Angelfall Loved it and a unique take on angels or Cinder
4. Enduring Classic - I'll Be Slaying You or Rebecca
5. Sequels, Sequels -Spider’s Revenge just requested this one from the library love this series! or Playing with Fire
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… The Darkest Hour
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hit - Just the Sexiest Man Alive
8. New Release - Once Burned

I had great fun looking through your bookshelves ... so many books to read, so little time. I hope you find something fun to read in my selections...
1. It the book that brought Bondage to Soccer Mums ... my book club allocated Fifty Shades of Grey this month and I have to say, so far I'm not that impressed. You might have a different opinion though...
2. If Fifty Shades has been a let down The Reluctant Dom was not. It's emotional and at some stages too real. If you want to stretch your boundaries and to give you a different view of BDSM I really recommend it.
3. Arctic Winds is the start of a new series by Sondrae Bennett. Sondrae is a relatively new author who also writes a blog about the books she's reading at the moment. I'm loving the world she is creating with this series. It's sweet but in a nice not overly sugared kind of way.
4. Hmmm... I was going to pick Succubus Blues but then I realised that this list was getting heavily weighted towards PNR/UF so, I'm going to suggest Devil's Bride as alternative.
5. It's Mercy and Adam on their HONEYMOON... how have you stopped yourself from devouring River Marked I don't know. You must have a lot more willpower than I do :)
6. Naked in Death I don't know that I'd call it suspenseful but it is the start of a brilliant series of futuristic crime books. Okay, so I don't really care about the crimes - but it has Roarke who in my mind looks like this ....

7. We both love Molly Harper's writing so why don't we read The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires
8. Lauren Dane's Chaos Burning was released recently, however as it's the second book in the series and neither of us have read the first book, why don't we start with Heart of Darkness

Had a blast looking through your library, we have very similar taste in books. Liked your large list of TBR's. Hope that I came up with something that interests you for this month.
1. Blockbuster Hit - I see you read and enjoyed the first 2, you might want to finish the trilogy with: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
2. Tearjerker - A Gentle Rain by Deborah Smith is one that I found to be one that would fit in this category.
3. Independent Film - This author was a self-published for awhile, but she is now getting her books published by a larger group, but she is still considered a new author. Try Switched by Amanda Hocking, it is the first in her Trylle series.
4. Enduring Classic - Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles has been on your tbr (and mine) for a while now. We both enjoyed the first of the series, we should probably get to the second sometime.
5. Sequels, Sequels - You and I both seem to like a good series. You really seemed to like the first 2 of Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick, you are one book ahead of me, but it sounds like this one is pretty good too.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… As far as intense, American Gods by Neil Gaiman is strange, unique and completely enthralling.
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hit - One of my favorites - that I am always willing to re-read - is Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. It is a fun, light romance with a bit of a supernatural twist that SAA always has in her books and makes them so much fun to read. (Really any Sarah Addison Allen would be good)
8. New Release - Like me, you had a more difficult time with the last book of the Immortal series, let's hope that City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare is better and makes up a little for 'City of Fallen Angels'

Ok, I hope you can find something in here that catches your eye. We really do have a lot in common on this. It was so much fun - Thanks, Happy Reading :)

Thanks for the picks! When will you be starting Leviathan? I might join in. Going to start with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and Mystery Man. Both Easy and Master of Crows look good and have been added to the ever-growing TBR :)

1. Blockbuster Hit – I was never into BDSM romance novels but this book made me change my mind and my toes curl.. Christian is on the utmost top of my book boyfriend list Fifty Shades of Grey and if intense BDSM is not your style you can skip to book 2 Fifty Shades Darker without missing out on much.
2. Tearjerker – this book made me so sad my pillow was wet from tears.. So if you’re feeling like a good cry you can read A Walk to Remember
3. Independent Film – Strange Angels
4. Enduring Classic – Hot Westmoreland Nights
5. Sequels, Sequels – I saw we have a shared love for JR Ward and that you also loved the Blackdagger Brotherhood series.. so why not give her other series The Fallen Angel’s Book 1: Covet a try..
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… I noticed you’re a fan of Stephen king and this book seemed very popular.. On Writing
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hit – The Corset Diaries I found this on your TBR and was intrigued by the synopsis, let me know if you’re interested in reading it together..
8. New Release – The Selection An eagerly awaited book which has been on my TBR for a while, let me know if you’d be interested.
HAPPY READING!

Sure no problem! :)

we meet again, this time around I will pick for you! I hope you find something you like as I very much enjoyed your picks for me a couple of months ago!
1. Blockbuster Hit
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
One Reckless Summer by Toni Blake - this book has been very popular here in GR this summer and it really is worth all the buzz ! Perfect summer romance, I loved it!
2. Tearjerker
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - this book definitely made me shed a couple of tears
Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah
3. Independent Film
The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson - very good contemporary YA
The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher - high ratings and excellent reviews, looks very promising
4. Enduring Classic
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery - absolutely the sweetest and one of the funniest books, you gotta love Anne Shirley!
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier - best of Romance classics
5. Sequels, Sequels
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand - best paranormal series
Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas - from your favorite author
A Fatal Waltz by Tasha Alexander
6. On the Edge of Your Seat…
Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko - takes place in modern day Moscow. I have seen the Russian movie based on this book and it was great
Merrick by Anne Rice - from your horror shelf
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hit
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley - I have heard a lot of good praise for this author
8. New Release
Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

here are your picks...
1. Blockbuster Hit - Daughter of Smoke and Bone or Caleb's Crossing or Before I Go To Sleep
I have three books for this, one (Claeb's crossing) I haven't read but heard a lot of good things. The other two I have read and loved, especially Before I go to Sleep, even though I am not a thriller/mystery fan.
2. Tearjerker - Night Road or Bear, Otter, and the Kid - this one might be out of your comfort zone with a M/M plot but it was a good story.
3. Independent Film - Beg for Mercy - I got this book from R2R last year and was surprised to find it that good. I cannot resist a book when there are too many feelings described and they are realistic and well described.
Love Virtually - I am not sure if this one counts for this category but at least he is a lesser known writer. This book was different and irritated me a lot at times but being different than other mushy romance books make it worth reading.
4. Enduring Classic - I, Claudius * I haven't read this one but this one was the first classics I came across while strolling down your shelves.
Breakfast at Tiffany's - I watched the movie a few times, it was one of my favourite actually. And I have been wanting to read the book for sometime, and I read it and loved it. though I might still like the movie a little more.
5. Sequels, Sequels - Devil in Winter - you seem to like Lisa Kleypas and this was one of my favourites in this series and you have read the previous one so maybe it is time to give this one a chance.
Kiss the Girls - never read a Patterson book before but you seemed to like his books.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… Divergent or Feed
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hit - Agnes and the Hitman or
Kiss Me If You Canor The Best of Me
8. New Release - The Night Circus or The Language of Flowersor The Marriage Plot - those are not the newest books but the ones fairly new, both of us willing to read.
hope you can find somethings you enjoy...

I got you a mixture of genres for your recs, so I hope you will find something that will interest you.
Blockbuster Hit

Tearjerker

Enduring Classics
These two books got me started in my romance reading:

Sequels, Sequels
You've started the following series but haven't continued. Time to get a move on.

Two books from two different genres that has one thing in common - they are both great, exciting reads.

1. Blockbuster Hit - I was surprised when I didn't see Moon Called by Patricia Briggs in your shelves. This is definitely one of the most popular UF series out there and it's really, really good! Or if you want to try something different, check out this popular fantasy book: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
2. Tearjerker - I cried buckets with both of these The Sleeping Night by Barbara Samuel OR Cry No More by Linda Howard, specially the last one, which tears your heart out.
3. Independent Film - I loved both of these Ashfall by Mike Mullin and Angelfall by Susan Ee so I can't stop recommending them!
4. Enduring Classic - You've had Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen for a while in your TBR...maybe it's time to read one of them!
5. Sequels, Sequels - I've yet to read Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles so I may join you in a buddy read depending on timing...just let me know! Or you can continue with Lirael by Garth Nix, the next book in the Old Kingdom trilogy.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… - Rain Fall by Barry Eisler OR Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare These are more intense than scary but they have both non-stop action, specially the first one.

Hello! Thanks for those great picks, I'm having trouble to decide which ones to read and I'll definitely try to work my way through as many as I can. For sure I'm picking up Moon Called - I have no idea why that one wasn't on my TBR, I heard a lot of great things about Briggs. I hope I can finish off Ashfall and Angelfall as well + Water for Elephants. Thank you! (:

Thanks so much for the great picks Lekshmy!
I would love to read

Here are your choices, hopefully there is something that you are interested in ;)
1. Blockbuster Hit
Catching Fire - I have to admit that I liked this one better than THG
One For The Money - I saw the movie before I read the book was it was a cute/short read
The Help - this has to be one of the best audiobooks I've listened to, I hope you enjoy it and if you do listen to audiobooks, I highly recommend trying to get a copy of this
2. Tearjerker
Firefly Lane - Kristin Hannah always makes me bawl - I was at work reading this and def. got some weird looks
The Reluctant Dom - very moving, I still think about it occasionally, and its been over 2 years since i've read it.
3. Independant Film
Faking Mr. Right - this looks to be self-pub'd and sounds interesting
Master of Crows - a sci-fi/fantasy mix - originally it was published by amber allure, but the author has since got the rights back and re-released it
On the Island - this was just picked up by a big publisher, but since it was originally self-published, I think that meets the spirit of the task ;)
4. Enduring Classic
Mansfield Park - i'm making it my goal to read a classic a month, but i'm a bit behind. anyways, I am planning on doing this one this month if you are interested
Bad Attitude - has been on your TBR since Nov 2010 (as a double bonus she is also one of your most-read authors)
5. Sequels, Sequels

Heartless - #4 in the Parasol Protectorate
Dark Needs at Night's Edge - #4 in IAD
This Side of the Grave - #6 in Night Huntress
Lethal Rider - #3 in LoD
6. On the Edge of Your Seat
I've been on a huge suspense/thriller/mystery kick recently, so these are 3 books that i've enjoyed, all are the start of new series
The Surgeon - #1 in the Rizzoli and Isles series (also a TV show, but the books are soo much better)
Blindsighted - #1 in the Grant County series - she has 3 series out that all dovetail into each other, so I recommend starting with this one
Shadow Man - #1 in Smokey Barrett series - she is a FBI profiler
7. Summer Hit
I love short and sweet. One of these I have read and one I haven't, but I don't know if I will be able to do a buddy read
Simply Irresistible

8. New Release
Frat Boy and Toppy - this might be a bit out of your comfort zone, but we are doing it as our m/m buddy read this month if you want to join in

Hi Skandia, nice to see you again!
GREAT RECS!!!
I think I will read

I've also put

I've put some of your other recs on my every-growing TBR! Thank you and have a fun month of reading!

Love the cover! ;) lol!

1. Blockbuster Hit ~ Here are two bestsellers, that were both 5 star reads for me and are both new to you: Dragon Bound and A Discovery of Witches

2.Tearjerker ~ The Reluctant Dom, I had to actually put this book down at times just to sob like a baby. Ok, so I cry a lot, but the sobbing was pretty hard at the end of Passion too.

3. Independent Film ~ Here are two from small publishers that I wasn't expecting much from, but turned out to be great reads: Love My Way and Raphael

4. Enduring Classic ~ Decadent has been in your possession since at least 2008, get to it woman! And I consider Lisa Kleypas to be a classic romance author so give Then Came You a try, it's been on your list for a while as well.

5. Sequels, Sequels ~ I see you're currently reading Fifty Shades of Grey, if you're digging it, then you'll have to move one to Fifty Shades Darker. If you're not so into it then it's time you read Eternal Kiss of Darkness

6. On The Edge of Your Seat ~ Suspense... Instense... and a little scary: Deadly Fear and Daughter of Smoke and Bone

BUDDY READS
7. Summer Hit ~ We both have this one on our TBRs, it should be kinda light and fluffy: Love Slave for Two

8. New Release ~ You're also a big fan of the Cat 'n' Bones world so you must be looking forward to Vlad's story (and you don't have to read Eternal Kiss first): Once Burned

I hope you find something good in this list, I tried to give you some variety. Happy Reading!

I had a lot of fun going through your shelves - you are very committed when you start a series! We have similar tastes but I still found some new authors - which is always fun. Anyway, here are your picks! I hope you find something you like. It is a mix of your shelves and mine (and sometimes they overlap).
1. Blockbuster Hit - Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter or Noble House
The first one I thought would be fun since the movie is out right now and I chose the second because you have read the others by James Clavell and I think this one is his best. Amazing story.

2. Tearjerker - The Prince of Tides or Into the Wilderness I'm not huge into tearjerkers and you don't seem to be either, so this was a little bit of a challenge. I just re-read the first pick and it's over the top emotional but sooo good and the second is a wonderful saga that I loved.

3. Independent Film - A Hidden Fire or Touched by an Alien The first pick is the start of an amazing series that I have become totally engrossed in. The first isn't the best but it's very good and the second pick is just a fun, quirky sci-fi romance.

4. Enduring Classic -Katherine or RansomThe first pick is a classic romance story that I read many years ago and the second pick is the book that's been on your TBR the longest and I loved it!

5. Sequels, Sequels -Sin Undone or Crave or Eternal Rider I gave you 3 picks for this because I just couldn't choose. The first is a continuation of a series you obviously enjoy and the second pick is a continuation of a series you started. I think this one is better than the first in the series, so you may want to try it. And the third pick is a new series for you but it's by an author you like and it's an amazing series.

6. On the Edge of Your Seat - Heartbreaker or A Clash of Kings The first one is a really good romantic suspense by Julie Garwood, who I love. This is one of my favorites. And the second pick is second is such an intense seriesthat you seem to like. I will actually be reading it this month as part of buddy read and you are welcome to join.

Buddy Reads:Let me know if you want to do a buddy read with the first two picks. I won't be able to do a buddy read for the last two picks, unfortunately, though I'm dying to read them.
7. Summer Hit - Good in Bed or The Lost Duke of Wyndham Fun, light stories!

8. New Release - Once Burned or Shadow of Night These both look so good!

1. Blockbuster Hit -

2.Tearjerker -

3. Independent Film -

4. Enduring Classic -

5. Sequels, Sequels

6. On the Edge of Your Seat…

Buddy Reads I am able to if you'd like....
7. Summer Hit -

8. New Release - (Comes out July 3rd!)

1.

2.

Thanks again for the picks! Great job.

Here are your picks for this month. I mainly kept to your TBR and you have some good choices on there that I have already read.
1. Blockbuster Hit - Fifty Shades of Grey. You have to read this book! It is one of my favorites!
2. Tearjerker - Blue-Eyed Devil. This book is very heavy and about abusive relationships. Even though I tell you that it is very eye opening and very well written.
3. Independent Film - Master of the Mountain. This is a short story and very steamy but a good story.
4. Enduring Classic - Pride and Prejudice. The origianl Romance story in my opinion. My favorite movie/book of all time!
5. Sequels, Sequels - Darkfever. This series is awesome.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat… Shades Of Twilight. A very good romantic suspense story.
Buddy Reads:
Please be sure at least one of your picks is on your pickee’s TBR.
7. Summer Hit - Faking It. This looks like fun.
8. New Release - Once BurnedThis book just came out this week and it looks interesting to me. Why not read it!

Wow, Megan, thanks for the great picks! I'd read all of them if I had the time - but I'm sure I won't. :(

It looks like a lot of others might be reading it too, so it could be a lot of fun! As for the rest, it will just depend on how many I can fit into my other challenges. Thanks again!
