Last night I started Black Wings which is just ok I am not all that into it. In part this is because I just reread the Guild Hunter series so nothing feels quite as satisfying...sigh
Lori Handeland; shame I can't really get into her newer Night Creature novels (book 9 and up).

I love Sci-Fi romance so I've been reading quite a lot lately. I'm working through several series that I didn't get turned on to until now and both have a ton of books in the series which is great because it'll take me a long time to catch up. I'm getting them one at a time from the library.

Dawn, I love the GhostWalkers series. The first two books are slower reads, but still excellent. Like Sherri said, definitely want to start at the beginning.
Gerd, I've been meaning to start some of Lori Handeland's books.
Carolyn, I like Sci-Fi romance. Especially Kenyon's League series.
I read other UF series. So far I've read a Dresden File book and a Night Huntress book. I also read a lot of Mystery/Suspense/Thriller-like books. Then sometimes I read Romance (different sub-genres of it too).
Basically--I read anything that is published. My Mum used to joke that if they put printing on toilet tissue I wouldn't leave the bathroom until I'd read the entire roll. Having said that--there are days when I have to read a certain KIND of book. Depending on my mood, it might have to be humour, mystery, sci-fi, fantasy. . . whatever it is, on those days, if I can't figure out WHAT I want to read, I just kind of "graze". I'll read a couple of pages of a book. If its not what I'm in the mood for, I'll put it down and read a few pages of another book. . . I'll keep that up until I find what I'm in the mood for--or until I give up (which is usually about book number 12 or so)

I also read Demon by Kristina Douglas (the pseudonym of Anne Stuart), and it was awesome. Very good and different PNR with angels.
I started Spider's Bite, very gritty UF with a tough as nails heroine. I am liking it very much.

and at this point I think it is brilliant. I love the fact that I am on chapter 8 and still do not know the name of the narrator how curious. I also wonder if I was ever so young.Also reading

. I haven't read PNR in a while so I thought I'd give it a try.
I like the Kitty Norville books by Carrie Vaughn-Kitty and the Midnight Hour is the first in that series. Also, The Better Part of Darkness and Succubus Blues were good first books in series. For awesome male protagonists,The Dresden Files is top of the heap, but I also like Nightlife, Fated, and Midnight Riot.Sorry, I get carried away with urban fantasy recommendations.

I *love* the Downside series! I just ordered books 1, 2, & 5 (Chasing Magic). Out of order, I know, but I've already read them all, except Chasing Magic, which is why that I got the 5th one out of order.
Oh, cool. I still have to read them. I just hope it arrives and Books-A-Million. The order I made earlier got cancelled. Bah. :( It's fine though; I ended up getting another book. But I'd still like to read Chasing Magic.

Cry Baby Hollow, by Aimee Love. This author reminds me of Patricia Briggs. Excellent writing, good story. A werewolf book with a different take on the mythos. Only females (with the right genetics) are werewolves and they change based on their monthly cycle, not the moon. Strong female lead, great supporting characters. Fast paced read. I found it on Kindle, cheap too. Like under $3
Sounds interesting. Don't have a Kindle (yet), but gonna add it to my list.

Lady D--you can get Kindle apps for your computer, Notebook and I-phone (of whatever type). So no reason to NOT get those freebies. :o) And CBH by Aimee Love was offered for free a few days ago. That's when I got it. Just trying to get time to READ it now.

Although I myself can't really get into it, she strikes thus far a good balance between Patricia's and Laurell K. Hamilton's style (which makes me think that I actually should like it, but can't put my finger on it why I don't).
My favorites are Ilona Andrews and Eileen Wilks in addition to Patricia Briggs. I also really like Christina Dodd's Others series.

I've been reading a lot of Mercedes Lackey's books in between Patricia Briggs' book releases
I read a shifter book the other day, coincidentally the heroine named Anna (shakes head), and not naming names (because it was awful) but I always seem to compare shifter books to Patty's. She's my standard. Whenever I'm feeling especially down or mired in books I can't seem to get interested in, I know I can always turn to the Alpha and Omega prequel to get me out of my funk!

Currently reading The Witch Sea on my Kindle app, lovely story.Also got All Hallows Moon as a free download, only sampled the first couple pages, but liked what I read so far.
I just started reading Susan Krinard's "Touch of the Wolf". But, I was curious if any of you avid readers of werewolf/shape shifter books know the series/book title that has to do with characters involving a wolf and a woman who was attacked by someone named Jack which she seems to hear in her head and turns into a cougar/black panther unbeknownst to her and she lives in a house and is saved by the male wolf who places a large duffel bag of meat at her feet while she is in were form in the tree in the park. any ideas what the title or author of this book is??? it'd be greatly appreciated as it is driving me nuts. thanks

Sometimes books get found right away, sometimes it takes a while--but a LOT of people belong and help out everyone that they can.
I just finished reading A Kelly Gay book - The Better Part of Darkness. I liked it well enough that i will be reading the 2nd book in the series when i get a chance.
I'm reading a few galleys right now. So,...yeah.
Just finished Keri Arthur's Full Moon Rising - not really my thing - to much spurious sex (the wolves have to have frequent sex during the full moon phase or they go a bit rabid!) but the narrative and characterisation were good if you want stick to werewolves.Carrie Vaughn's weres are ok but her world isn't as fully developed as Patricia Briggs. Kelly Armstrong's Otherworld is a were-based series with a world view very much focussed around wolves.
Ilona Andrews is great...*pining for a new book*!

Bayou Moon by Illone Andrews). The changeling William is pretty cool, and the suspense is good. I also liked the family relationships. It's book 2 in the Edge series.
Nalini Sighn... both the series and shelly Laurensto are a few.
