Yes, one of my favorite wolves ever. The authors created such a sympathetic character, but by no means weak. I was so happy for him, in the end. Wish we'd get more Edge books.

I am reading Touched by A.J. Aalto , and it's very good urban fantasy. I'm sucked into the story. Readers who like Briggs might enjoy it, although it's got cursing and sexual content, which Briggs seems to avoid in her writing.

Kathleen (user_kathleen) | 63 comments That's one thing I appreciate about Briggs. Too much rough language is a turn off. Another author I love is Lois McMaster Bujold, especially her Vorkosigan series. It's wonderful space opera, light science fiction with great relationship and character development, and some romance. No changelings or werewolves, though.

Teena | 5 comments Some of these have been mentioned
1-The Hollows series by Kim Harrison
2-The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning
3-Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
I also like the series about Kat and Bones (can't remember the author but I think it is PNR). I'll read just about anything, looking forward to finding some of the other books mentioned!
The Game of Thrones books are next on my list.

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 297 comments I just read the first Golgotham book, RIght Hand Magic. It's interesting, and set in an alternate world, much as Mercy is. But in this series, the "things that go bump in the night" are real, and they live in an area of NYC called Golgotham. Totally different take from Mercy, but again, we have the strong female in a role that is normally male. In the case of Tate, she is a sculptor working in iron, steel and various other metals. She uses a welding torch to create her art, and also uses auto transmissions and other auto parts to help out in her art. For a first book, it actually rated a full 4 stars (instead of the usual 3.25-3.50).

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 297 comments Just finished Midnight Crossroad by Charlaine Harris. This is the first book in her new series. If you haven't read ALL of her other series, you will miss some of the things mentioned in this book, but I think that's OK. If you have read them, you'll see a few old friends. So far I'm not sure exactly WHAT I think about this series, it'll depend on the next book. I usually give Book 1 in any series a lot of leeway since the author is mostly using it to set things up. It's what happens afterwards that determines if I stay with the series or not.

Still, thought I'd throw it out there for those who haven't tried it.
